We had a fantastic stay at Sonder City Hall Park! The location couldn’t be better—right next to the subway and within walking distance of several major attractions. Our room was spacious, cozy, and incredibly comfortable, with the bed being an absolute highlight—perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring the city. The staff were exceptional—always friendly, quick, and efficient. They promptly resolved a small issue we had upon arrival, which made us feel well cared for throughout our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to NYC!

When traveling to the city, we usually stay in the Financial District because it is a lot quieter than Midtown. And we have been staying at apartment like hotels because they tend to have more space. With that said, we booked the Executive King Suite with sofa bed. We had two adults and two kids (under 16). The kitchen came equipped with basically supplies. No tub in the bathroom. The place was semi clean. The carpet was dirty as if it had not been vacuumed when we checked in. The counter tops and table tops had finger prints and smudges on them. The bedding was clean, including the spare comforter for the sofa bed - we had to request the sheets. The bathroom was clean. The bathroom had two sets of towels; body, face and hand. You will need to request more when you check in. Speaking of check in, the staff was friendly. When requesting for extra sheets and towels, we were told we had to use the app. Since we did not book through the app, you just have to go downstairs and request the items to be delivered to your room - no land line phones in the rooms. Due to the location, most places closed before 10 pm. We do not stay out that late (with kids) so late night bites can be a bit harder to find in the area but you can always DoorDash.

This was our first time at a Sonder. Wow! To say that it exceeded our expectations would be a serious understatement. The room was spacious and well equipped - way beyond any place we’d be able to find in NYC. Service was warm and readily available. The location was perfect! Quiet yet central and safe. The subway hub was literally 10 feet away. Joe’s pizza a block away. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!

Great place to stay in New York - spacious room with kitchen & dining table, great bathroom, amazing view & rooftop access. There’s an app Sonder where you can chat about any issues or questions any time. The location is perfect - subway, supermarkets & restaurants are all walking distance. We enjoyed our stay! One drawback - no cleaning service (we thought the additional fee was too expensive), but apart from that it was a perfect stay!

I’ve stayed at this Sonder location twice and both experiences have been exceptional. Our first time, they asked me if there was anything they could have done to make my stay more comfortable, and I mentioned that it would be nice to have ice trays in the freezers as the ability to make myself a snack or a cocktail is a big reason I choose Sonder over a hotel. Second stay, one of the first things I noticed when I checked in was that there was an ice tray in my freezer. I love seeing that management takes feedback seriously. There was a minor issue with Chromecast during our second stay, and it was addressed immediately. Thanks for making Sonder our home away from home!
