The only good thing about this “hotel” stay was when we left. Upon check in everything seemed fine, the doorman was so sweet and friendly and there was a wait at the desk to check in but we were fine with that, as we arrived right at check in time. As soon as we rounded the corner away from the lobby, however, the smell of air fresheners slapped us in the face. The walls were filthy. The elevator was dirty and dark. Our floor was dark, and to top it off the door to our room DIDN’T EVEN CLOSE!! The room has stains running down the walls, the bathroom was dark and dingy, the bed had black spots on the mattress, and again the smell of cheap air fresheners was so overpowering that my eyes were watering. I’m not normally a Karen, I don’t like to complain, but it was just bad. We stayed in the room for about 45 seconds total before deciding to find a different hotel and we left back down to the lobby to fill the staff in and cancel our reservation. As soon as we started talking to the front desk, you could tell they had head this time and time again. In fact the girl behind us was coming down to do the exact same thing. They told us we could be assured a refund for our two night booking and that the manager was unavailable but would reach out the following day. She didn’t. So before we left the city, we stopped in to talk in person. The manager said that a refund would not be issued and wouldn’t budge on the topic. In total, we have been charged over $700 for a two night stay that was supposed be be $300. Every time we check our account, we have another charge from this place and our reservation was 5 days ago. This place is a dirty, disgusting scam. BE CAREFUL where you book in the city.

Feb 24, 2025 · Maria TonioliMy son and I spent one night in this hotel and it was a horrible experience. I asked if we could get a late check out because we are both disabled and I was told that if we go past the noon check out time we would be charged $75. What hotel doesn't give a late checkout when requested or charges you for a late checkout? Furthermore the man at the front desk told me well you should have enough time to check out. Firstly that was an extremely rude answer even if I wasn't disabled. Secondly I asked for the late check out because it takes us longer to do things. Not only was the front desk worker discriminatory has no clue how long it takes us to do things. I even asked if the manager/owner could be called and ok a late checkout and he came back saying no or I would be charged the $75. So don't expect help from this hotel if you are disabled because the entire organization is discriminatory towards the disabled. The continental breakfast was the highlight, but that's being gracious to say. Then the elevator broke as we were about to go back up to our room. We had to wait a half hour for it to be fixed. They were "gracious" enough to extend our check out by a half hour. That half hour derailed our plans before and after the check out. The entire situation left a sour taste in my mouth so I decided not to take a shower (which was also the only part of the hotel room that looked semi-inviting.) If I did we would not have enough time to get ready and also that we could just leave as soon as possible but I was shaking so much from the entire experience I had to stay for about a half hour after that and I was still shaking when we left the hotel. I had to get our car out of the garage and I had to stay parked on the street until my body was no longer shaking so I could drive home. So the plans for the remainder of our day before and after the noon checkout had to be canceled. Furthermore and lastly the room was disgusting. Holes in and on the unsightly dirty walls. Grungy replacement bathroom floor tiles. A smell of urine. Etc. The bed was comfy. I'f you are looking for a hotel that meet the basic standards and accommodations of even the dingiest motels this is not it. When we were leaving the front desk man. Said oh you can leave already? With a snotty tone and I said yes I no longer want to remain at this hotel. This was this morning.
Feb 17, 2025 · Kathy BrierMy girlfriend stayed in this hotel in about July of 2024. When she got there they said she had to give a $200 deposit that would’ve been given back when she checked out. She stayed one night and left the room very clean and organized. The front desk told her that her deposit would be back on her account in 1-2 weeks. She waited the 1-2 weeks and nothing happened. She tried calling them multiple times and they never answered. She waited a while and called back and they finally answered saying that the manager would call her back. The manager never called her back. The front desk said it was a problem with her bank not releasing the money. My girlfriend asked if there was anything wrong with the room just to get on record of them saying everything was fine. They said there was nothing wrong with the room and it was her banks fault. She called the bank and actually the hotel said that there was something wrong with her room that’s why they took the deposit. They lied because we have it on the record of them saying that the room was fine. Also my girlfriend left the room impeccable. We had to file a case with the bank and waiting for this to get resolved. It is February of 2025 and this is still not resolved and she is still dealing with their lies. If this doesn’t get resolved we will be suing the hotel and I’m sure they wouldn’t want that on their record. I just don’t understand how this hotel thinks they can steal our money and not just her money but there are other reviews of the hotel doing the same thing to other people. It’s very disappointing how this hotel is still in business. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!
Feb 19, 2025 · Gustavo RodriguesIf you want to stay in this area, go one block up to Club Quarters for a much better experience. I stayed here 2 nights for a work trip and would never stay here again. Room desperately need updating. I have 6 mosquito bites, the floor in my bathroom was uneven and seemed like you were going to fall through, and beds were uncomfortable with scratchy linens. The AC unit was extremely loud as well. They advertise gym passes, but don't plan on going to it. I got different answers from 4 different employees at different times of the day. I ended up having to do my own day pass for one day and just run outside the other. I addressed my concerns with the manager when I checked out (after having to wait awhile for someone to come to the desk) and all I was offered was a bottle of water.
Mar 20, 2025 · Alexandria PorrittThis hotel is a great value for the experience. It is centrally located a few blocks from many attractions, our room was very comfortable and charming, and the staff was kind and helpful (despite it being the crazy new year season). The continental breakfast is a nice touch. It’s not the fanciest, but if you’re looking for a comfortable landing spot for an active NYC trip in walking distance to many places, City Club is a great option. Shout out to Edwin the bellman for being super kind!
