Staying at The Algonquin Hotel Times Square was a real letdown, especially considering the price tag. Honestly, it just wasn't worth the money. The rooms felt dated, like they hadn't seen a refresh in ages. And that smell in the lobby? Definitely not the welcoming vibe you'd hope for. To top it off, the staff I encountered weren't particularly friendly or helpful. It felt like pulling teeth to get any kind of assistance. The only saving grace for this place is its location – being in Times Square is undeniably convenient. But even with that prime spot, the negatives far outweighed the positive. Overall, I wouldn't recommend The Algonquin Hotel Times Square. There are definitely better options out there for your money.

Apr 07, 2025 · Abdelrahman Bani HaniOur family of 3 had a great experience at the Algonquin. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we stepped foot inside the door. The location is phenomenal and located between 5th and Times Square but outside the noise. It's a historic hotel, so expect vintage vibes and small rooms. Shower worked great. Lastly, the staff was genuinely one of the best. All of those working the restaurant were wonderful and attentive. Treat yourself to ice cream at the end of the night and grab a drink.
Feb 17, 2025 · Cameron PedenThe hotel itself has great charm. It has a lobby bar and serves food. The location is great. It’s very convenient to a lot of destinations. It’s a few blocks from the hustle of Times Square but easy enough to walk. The room size is a typical small NY room. They maximize the space having everything one expects in a room(blow dryer, toiletries, etc). I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
Jan 20, 2025 · LisaMy true home away from home. The Algonquin is a vibe that perfectly fits me. The rooms, to me, feel like apartments. I could honestly see myself roaming the hallways and bumping into Dorothy Parker and having a drink. The front desk staff is second-to-none and the location is ideal. Then there’s our little buddy Hamlet, the resident cat, who always makes it feel like home. The Algonquin is not state-of-the-art, brand-new-everything, but it is absolutely a classy joint that fits my creative, artistic vibe. This is a gem of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and as long as I can afford it, it’s my choice for visits to NYC.
Mar 06, 2025 · Sabrina MillerGreat location, staff were all great, particularly in the bar! But rooms are pretty basic. Ideal if you’re just resting your head while you are on business or doing the tourist thing in town.
