We just checked in today, haven't even had our first night, but we already need to give the staff here a 5-star review. The Manager Brian and Front Desk clerk Sierra have been phenomenal! Since the airline lost one of our bags and had to deliver it, they let us know as soon as it got here, they accepted a walmart delivery for us, and they even gave us a free room upgrade since they knew the day we had. Outstanding service, and we still have 2 more nights to enjoy here!

For us locals here in Louisiana, the Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans-Convention Center is an exceptionally suitable and highly recommended choice for a variety of reasons, perfectly aligning with what we often seek in a New Orleans hotel experience.
Firstly, its strategic location is a huge win. For anyone heading to a convention, this hotel is literally "across the street," making logistics incredibly easy. And for those of us embarking on a cruise from the Port of New Orleans, being the "closest hotel to the Cruise Ship Terminal" is a massive convenience, saving us time and hassle before or after our voyage. Beyond these specific needs, its position in the Warehouse/Arts District means we're still close enough to walk to the French Quarter, Riverwalk, and the WWII Museum, offering a perfect balance between accessibility to the action and a slightly quieter neighborhood feel.
Secondly, the consistent praise for the staff truly resonates with our appreciation for genuine Southern hospitality. Knowing that staff members like Brian and Sierra go "above and beyond" – assisting with lost luggage, accepting deliveries, and even offering room upgrades – provides immense peace of mind. This level of service ensures a stress-free and welcoming environment, which makes a huge difference when you're away from home.
Finally, the reliable Hampton Inn amenities are a significant draw. The "free hot breakfast buffet" is a fantastic perk, saving us time and money each morning, and the "clean and comfortable" rooms, along with options like spacious suites with mini-kitchens, cater well to families or longer stays. The addition of a "relaxing lobby area in the historic building" and an "outdoor pool" further enhance the comfort and enjoyment. It’s a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests, offering a dependable, comfortable, and friendly base for any Louisiana resident looking to explore the delights of New Orleans without any complaints.

Apr 23, 2025 · Dusty Rhodes PropertiesStayed for Three nights before taking a cruise... wonderful experience. Arrived on the night of Dec 18th and the lady working the front desk was awesome==so friendly= gave us Christmas cookies and water with super friendly service- The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the relaxing lobby area in the historic building were you could sit and relax. Great location. Staff were all smiling and friendly. The Breakfast area was solid. No complaints- recommend this place for travelers to The Big easy
May 10, 2025 · Jason CameronThe hotel was nice. It had a good bar in the lobby and plenty of space due to it previously being a warehouse. The rooms were nice and they had free breakfast even though they were not on time every morning with the food. If you have a show at the convention center, the Hampton Inn is directly across the street. So it is very convenient for that purpose. It is also a nice, but fairly close walk to the Riverwalk mall (maybe a good 1/2 mile). They did have a nice selection for the breakfast buffet and was decent enough and well maintained with plenty of seating in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel when in Nawlins again.
Jun 09, 2025 · Greg BUpon arrival, the gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and kindly upgraded us to a suite, which was a lovely start to our stay. The room itself was clean and spacious. Shortly after checking in, I noticed a charge on my credit card despite having paid for the reservation with points. I returned to the front desk and spoke with the same gentleman, who assured me that he would resolve the issue. I did observe that the bathroom, particularly the bathtub, could benefit from a significant update. However, the hotel's location was excellent, as it was within easy walking distance of the cruise port, allowing us to avoid the long line for the shuttle. Upon checkout, I unfortunately discovered a new charge on my credit card. When I inquired at the front desk, the woman on duty stated that she could not find any record of payment with points. She provided me with the Front Office Director's card and suggested I speak with him, mentioning he would hopefully be in around 9:00 am. I returned at approximately 9:30 am, but the Front Office Director was still unavailable. The woman at the front desk was unhelpful and quite rude during this interaction. Ultimately, I had to contact my credit card company, who then called the hotel and spoke with a staff member (possibly named Rinny), and the charge was finally taken care of. This process took approximately 20 minutes on the phone. Overall, I found the hotel to be clean and in a very convenient location for accessing the cruise port. However, I would advise future guests who use points to be particularly vigilant in checking their credit card statements for any discrepancies.
May 04, 2025 · Mary DistasioThe property has two buildings. The newer building has mostly average rooms. They are clean, but sparse. My biggest complaint were the pillows - I hated them. The older building has huge rooms with beautiful high ceilings. The upgraded rooms in this building have better pillows. The pool is small but located between the buildings and lots of people were enjoying it. Fitness was decent for a Hampton. A few treads, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, and a cable machine. I did not get up in time for breakfast as it ends between 0909 and 930. All staff were friendly and accommodating! Location is not good unless going to convention center.
