My husband’s car and 2 other customers care was broken into while parked in the hotel’s lot—after we paid $32 per night for parking. Not only did the hotel fail to provide a secure environment, but they also had the audacity to tell us they’re not responsible. The manager casually mentioned she saw the damage when she arrived and had already filed a report with the company. When I asked for a copy to submit to our insurance, I was told it couldn’t be shared because it was for internal use only. Are you kidding me? We paid for parking, trusted this hotel with our property, and now we’re left to deal with the aftermath on our own. I’ve stayed at Hilton hotels across the country and never experienced anything this appalling. This location is a disgrace to the Hilton name. I would never stay here again, and I strongly advise others to stay away—unless you’re okay with paying premium prices for zero accountability and absolutely no security. Stay here at your own risk.

  • Event Hosting Capabilities: The substantial meeting and banquet facilities make it a popular choice for conferences, weddings, and other large gatherings in Providence.

Promotional Information and Guest Perceptions

The Hilton Providence, like other major hotel chains, frequently offers various promotions such as discounted rates for advance bookings, loyalty program member benefits, and packages that may include breakfast or parking. These can be found on Hilton's official website and through various travel booking platforms.

However, it is important to provide an objective introduction by also acknowledging customer feedback. While the hotel receives many positive reviews for its excellent location and, at times, its staff, some recurring issues have been highlighted by guests:

  • Parking Issues: A significant concern raised by guests pertains to parking. There have been reports of car break-ins in the hotel's paid parking lot and dissatisfaction with the hotel's response, including a lack of accountability and difficulty obtaining internal reports for insurance purposes. Additionally, the parking system itself can be confusing, with some guests noting a lack of clear instructions regarding check-in requirements for parking access.
  • Room Condition and Maintenance: Some reviews suggest that certain aspects of the rooms may be "out of date" or in need of refurbishment. Issues like stained chairs or malfunctioning air conditioning/heating have been reported, impacting guest comfort.
  • Service Inconsistencies: While some guests praise the helpfulness of the staff, others have described experiences with "rude customer service" or unresponsiveness from the front desk when attempting to resolve issues like incorrect room assignments or temperature problems.
  • Room Discrepancies: Instances where guests received a room different from what was originally booked (e.g., two single beds instead of a queen) have caused frustration.
  • Noisy Environment: Being in a downtown location, some guests might experience noise, though this is a common challenge in urban hotels.

Despite these challenges, many guests appreciate the hotel's central location, which offers unparalleled access to Providence's key attractions. The presence of on-site dining and fitness facilities is also valued. Guests often highlight the convenience for attending events at the adjacent venues.

In conclusion, the Hilton Providence, a readily available option through "Hotels Near Of Me," provides a convenient base in downtown Providence with a full range of amenities typical of a Hilton property. While its location and facilities are strong points, prospective guests should be aware of past concerns regarding parking security, room maintenance, and service consistency to manage expectations for their stay.

Room 820, first of all, started off parking. You can not park with out checking in first for your room key. On the parking station it does not instruct that. It just says out of service. Then once we gave up calling for help from the station. We just parked out front and checked in. Then they let us know the room key lets us into the parking lot. Once we parked and got our stuff to our room we realized it wasnt the room we originally paid for and it was also hot in the room. With rude customer service at the desk when we tried to correct the room we originally paid for which was a single queen from the website. We arrived to two single beds. Regardless we wanted 1 bigger bed. We let the woman know at the desk and she rudely said "what was the problem?" She said they had no other rooms. We just chucked it up and went back into the room. We turned the thermostat down before we left for the evening. We come back around midnight and the room is still hot. We notified the front desk. They sent someone up to "reset it". We waited a hour and half and the room is still hot. The hallway is actually cooler than the room. I let the girl know again at the desk and she just said there is nothing she can do. So we are now stuck in a hot room at 130am as I write this. Will leave this as a 1 star unless management fixes this issue.

I would never stay here again. The only reason I chose this hotel was because it was a Hilton and I am an honors member. I booked this hotel online through Trivago for way too much money then was told I don’t get the points because it wasn’t booked through Hilton. When you get there you have to pay an additional $32 for parking. When we tried to check in they didn’t have the room we payed for and put my husband and I in a room with two double beds. The room smelt very musty (which had me sneezing and blowing my nose), it had old carpets, the bathroom stunk, the TV had very few channels which came in as clear as they did in the 90s, and the mattresses desperately need to be replaced (it felt like we were sleeping on crates and killed my neck). I tried to put my leftover dinner in the fridge———this is the first hotel I have been in that doesn’t have a fridge in the room. Very dated. The people in the room next to us hollered until 2:20am. In the morning my husband took a shower and could see into the other room next to us through a vent - the room looked like it was under construction. If it hadn’t been 9:30pm when we got to the hotel we would have definitely walked out. I wouldn’t stay here or recommend this place to anyone. I put 2 stars for location but it wasn’t walkable to where we wanted to go. It gets one star because my husband said the office chair with the broken desk was comfortable.

The room was ok but a real nightmare to get in and out of with a wheelchair. The doorway was narrow and there was a ridiculously high sill to get over. The doors of the elevator were also a problem because they were narrow as well. For the price having breakfast provided would have been nice but when we heard it was $25/person for a buffet we declined to take them up on it. The in-house restaurant screwed up my order and the service was painfully slow. Parking was $32/night which I felt was pretty steep. The best thing going for the place was the immediate proximity to the concert venue right next door.

A+ service, but unfortunately worst night of sleep. Worst room ever! Unable to get any sleep in room 421. What is this? The punishment room? I've just driven a 10 hour trip. This is horrible. If you like sleeping in a ship engine room, or right at the jet engine of a plane, you might like it, however, normal people do NOT like obnoxious constant LOUD noise that NEVER stops!!!! I'm nearly in tears for the horrible noise. Recommendation is 100% NO. Maybe they need to have sound sensitive rooms available??
