I had a nice stay here. The room was clean and I liked the art in my room. The hotel was quiet, much quieter than I expected considering the location is in a popular nightlife area. Staff was friendly and helpful, too (shout-out to the night desk worker who was super fun to talk with). My only real complaint is that my bed and pillows were way too firm - I had trouble sleeping as a result. Other than that, my stay was pleasant.

Environment: A European Charm in the Heart of Federal Hill

Hotel Dolce Villa is nestled in the vibrant and historic Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence, renowned for its strong Italian heritage and lively atmosphere. The hotel's exterior, with its sunny yellow facade, exudes an Old World Italian countryside charm, creating an inviting first impression. This delightful aesthetic continues inside, where the decor is often described as having a mixed personality of country-side Italy and South Beach, Florida, combining warmth with trendy, contemporary chic. The property is specifically located in DePasquale Plaza, a bustling area.

One of the most appealing aspects of Hotel Dolce Villa's environment is its prime location within DePasquale Plaza. This means you're just steps away from some of Providence's best Italian restaurants, quaint cafes, and bustling nightlife. Despite being in such a popular and energetic area, guests frequently praise the hotel for its surprising quietness, allowing for a peaceful and restful stay. The surroundings offer a truly immersive cultural experience, making it perfect for foodies, culture enthusiasts, and those who enjoy a lively yet accessible urban setting. It's an ideal choice for those looking to immerse themselves in local culture, with Waterplace Park, Dunkin' Donuts Center, and the Rhode Island Convention Center all within a 15-minute walk.

While the overall ambiance is charming, some guests have noted that the interior, particularly the hallways, might appear a "little tacky" or "a bit creepy" to some, highlighting a subjective element of the decor. However, this unique character often appeals to those looking for something beyond a standard chain hotel experience. The intimate scale of the hotel, with its 24 units (including 9 one-bedroom and 5 two-bedroom units), contributes to a more personalized and cozy feel. The hotel's non-smoking policy ensures a fresh environment for all guests.

My friend stayed here for long term (a few months) and I visited several times. He would rave about how much he loved the cleaning service here. It’s a little tacky inside for me but they seemed to like it. The hallways and stuff are a bit creepy and there never seems to be anyone at the front desk but he had a balcony suite so he could just throw his keys down to me outside. The only time I talked to a desk person I asked about the rates and they pretty much told me I couldn’t stay there if I wanted to and gave me no additional information lol but the people who did live here really liked it.

My family and I lived in one of the extended stay apartments for 4 months while looking to buy a house in Rhode Island and for the most part, it was great. The weekly maid service was fantastic, those lady’s were so wonderful to us, especially to our boys. Paul, the maintenance man was top notch. Anytime we had an issue, he was there like a superhero to save the day. Xiony, the hotel manager was always warm kind to us as well. Honestly, the only downside was one rude and unprofessional front office hotel employee. I recall so many moments where he’d treat me like trash, like he just didn’t care at all. The most recent being today over our deposit refund, nearly 2 weeks and it hasn’t come through yet. We have our 4 year old son’s birthday party this Sunday which will then be followed up by the birth of our daughter this Tuesday, so ya, we kinda need that money. My wife called to check up on the status this morning and apparently this employee was “rude and condescending” to her. She was really upset by this so I felt I needed to call the hotel myself. Within the first 30 seconds I understood what she told me, he was, my apologies for the language, a jackass. After asking about the deposit, I heard his condescending sigh which was followed by him telling me he couldn’t help me and to call back tomorrow. I tried to explain why I needed an answer today and asked for a contact number for his boss, he refused then told me to call back tomorrow. I again asked for his bosses contact info and it was at this point he hung up on me, mid-conversation. Here’s the thing, it’s not so much about the deposit as it’s about the total like a care. Of course, getting our deposit back as soon as possible would put us at ease but it’s more than that. It’s about feeling respected which is a word I don’t think this employee knows the meaning of. That being said, if you’re looking for a place to stay for 1 night or 4 months, give them a shot. One bad employee shouldn’t overshadow all the other great one’s!

We had a terrible experience start to finish. There's no direct access to the entrance of the hotel so we had to carry our luggage through a crowded pedestrian square and up a set of stairs in the near 40 Celsius degree heat. The halls and room smelled of air freshener or bleach. The rooms are small and modest. They had no curtains and it filled with artificial light from the square at night. The shower curtain collapsed. We returned from a day out and about to find the toilet clogged... We don't know how the cleaner could have missed it. The staff were either absent, unhelpful or unresponsive. The best thing about the place was the check out.

We booked The Hotel Dolce Villa last minute and it was the best impulse decision. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the popular  Federal Hill(Little Italy) area, We were warmly greeted by the host. He was flexible, informative, and quick to accommodate any requests. We stayed in the "1 Bedroom Private Studio W/ Micro Kitchen" The room was immaculate and fully stocked with cooking essentials. The bed made for a good night's sleep. Though we didn't have a view, we could hear the rhythmic sounds of Latin & Italian music. The decor is a lovely tribute to the iconic and legendary beautiful Sophia Loren. Will definitely book The Hotel Dolce Villa again. PRIME LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL/ CLEAN ACCOMMODATIONS,  AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE,  & AFFORDABLE RATES!
