Kimpton Theta New York - Times Square

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this Kimpton, reaffirming our love for the brand. From the moment we arrived early in the morning, the hospitality was exceptional—they accommodated us with an early check-in, setting the tone for a fantastic visit. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to assist. Our suite was impressively spacious for a New York City hotel, impeccably clean, and furnished with a supremely comfortable bed. Despite being in the heart of the city, the room was remarkably quiet, allowing for restful nights. The hotel's location was another highlight—perfectly situated near everything we wanted to explore. Though the rooftop restaurant had yet to open, we had the opportunity to see the space, and it is stunning. Without a doubt, if you're planning a trip to NYC, look no further—Hotel Theta is where you want to be.

Absolutely fantastic stay! We ended up being moved to this hotel due to the previous hotel closing for refurbishment- and are we glad! The hotel is spotless, great location, delis, diners and everything you could need a stones throw away including a delicious Chinese right opposite. The rooms are bigger than typical NY hotel rooms- stylish, modern, loads of storage space and lovely bathroom. The beds are HEAVEN! If you arrive at a busy time, check in is slow- but hey, it's not the end of the world, I don't think it's worth moaning about. Complimentary late check out is 12, but you can add on more time at $25 an hour so that was great too. The lobby is a great place to chill waiting for taxis or to meet people. There is also a little coffee shop with pastries open in the lobby until 2pm each day. Out of all the hotels in NY I have stayed in- this one was the best by far, and all the others were great!

Overall excellent. On One day, one of the elevators was broken, caused some delay. Not a big deal. Also had issue with the AC not working efficiently But they resolved it quickly. Beautiful lounge area downstairs. I have a 5 day stay. Great location . Walking distance to all the good stuff. Definitely will return . Oh I stayed on 14th floor. Good view

Much more than we expected from a Times Square hotel! -Fantastic rooftop restaurant with great views and upscale food. -Our room was quite large, had great lighting in the bathroom and bedroom, and a nice midcentury style. -Service was quick and smooth. -Can't beat the location--three minutes from Times Square, under ten minutes to most theaters, and yet somehow not too loud or bright. It may be more expensive at peak times, but we paid less here than at similar hotels in Seattle and DC around the same time. Will definitely return.

We had (what we thought) was a lovely stay at Hotel Theta in March. Room was clean, lobby was nice and great location. After we returned home we found out that the hotel had charged us a "smoking fee" of over $500. Not only are my husband and I non smokers, but we are very anti smoking, in general (after losing close family members to smoking cancers). When we called the hotel and talked to "Steve" (manager) to dispute, he was rude, hung up on us and told us that their hotel in room monitors were not wrong (trust me, they are. we don't smoke!). They would not reverse the charge and we had to file a dispute with our bank to resolve. The fact that a known customer friendly and quality hotel would 1) not honor our dispute 2) was rude when we called to dispute and 3) hung up on us makes us think that Kimpton was trying to pull a "fast one" on its customers with fraudulent charges. Beware of incorrect fees on your hotel statement at checkout.
