The hotel is in a great location. It’s within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants, stores, museums and monuments. Bell services was wonderful. Valet was very backlogged but they surely did hustle to try and keep up with the demand. Thankfully we were not in a rush but it did take the valet 45 minutes to retrieve our vehicle. Normally we’re able to text to request our car. Unfortunately that did not work so we had to go downstairs directly to the valet to request it in person. An inconvenience for sure, but thankfully not a normal occurrence. The room service attendant was very sweet and did a wonderful job refreshing our room daily.

Mar 25, 2025 · Tiffany FIn town on business. Hotel is tired. Doesn’t look like it’s been updated since it opened in 2014. Carpets in room faded and tattered. Plugs on desk do not work. Mattress was worn. Not up to Marriott standards. Needs an overhaul. Staff were wonderful.

Apr 15, 2025 · Ken EnecioWhere do I start? The room smelled musty and sweaty, like a gym that's been wiped down, when I entered. I was so tired I didn't even bother moving. I took out the robe to wear after my shower, bad idea. It smelled musty and sweaty as well so I just put it back in the closet. If you ever need anything, go downstairs for it. I would have to call, 3 or 4x with the line constantly ringing before anyone would answer. I've never had this issue with any other hotel. For it being a Marriott Marquis, I find it very strange and disappointing. After a long day, I tried to make hot water for my tea and the coffee machine is filthy. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months and the water it produced had brown particles and oil spots on top. We'd hosted an event at the hotel so I stayed here for convenience and it was a huge disappointment. After a long day of hosting the event, when I got back to the hotel from dinner, I saw a roach roaming around the lobby. I then went to the front desk and told them the Keurig in my room was filthy and they said they'd replace it. I waited over an hour for someone to come with a new one. I was so tired I just gave up and was about to shower when someone knocked on my door so I told them to please wait for me to become decent again. They just put the kettle on the floor (albeit in a plastic bag) and left. This new kettle was dusty and dirty on the inside and outside too. I just took a shower and went to bed. Would not recommend this hotel at all. I will be staying at another hotel when I'm back in DC later this year.
May 26, 2025 · Waifah JordanI’m incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and basic customer service at this property. I was traveling on a government-paid reservation, and while there was an issue with the payment card that my department needs to resolve, the way the hotel handled the situation was absurd. I had already been staying for three nights on a seven-night reservation when they suddenly informed me there was a problem with the card. I was told I had to come downstairs immediately. I said fine, I’d be right down, and within a minute of putting on my shoes and grabbing my wallet, I opened the door to find two security personnel and a hotel manager standing there. Completely unnecessary and frankly insulting—especially considering I have Gold status with Marriott. When I got downstairs, the staff seemed untrained and unable to provide any explanation for why security was involved or why the issue wasn’t brought up during normal business hours. They couldn't even tell me why my room key had already been deactivated before I left the room. In the end, I had to put the charges on my personal card because apparently, a government-guaranteed reservation and elite status mean nothing here. And this wasn't an isolated issue—every morning it was a struggle just to get enough coffee creamer from housekeeping, to the point that I had to leave notes daily. Marriott, if this is how you treat your loyal members, you can keep your Gold status. I’ll be staying elsewhere going forward. Don't believe the fake "engagement" below; this is absolutely the level of service they strive for. When my boss complained to the manager about it, they said they were just following policy. So, that is what you have, a hotel that looks pretty, but treats you awfully, then wants to slap on a pretty face when you complain publicly. Don't believe it.
