Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel

We absolutely love staying at this hotel! It’s become our go to place, and we've had the pleasure of visiting several times. Every experience has been exceptional, largely thanks to Victor Rodriguez. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure our stay is nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrive, Victor’s warm hospitality and attention to detail make all the difference. He always checks in to make sure we’re comfortable and well taken care of, making us feel like valued guests. His dedication to providing outstanding service makes him a standout, and we look forward to seeing him every time we visit. Without a doubt, Victor is the best, and his exceptional service keeps us coming back!

When considering a stay at the Renaissance Hotel, here are some important details to keep in mind. The hotel does implement a daily destination fee of $30, which is clearly stated during the reservation process—there are no hidden surprises. The highlight of this fee is that it can be applied towards food and drinks during your stay, allowing you to make the most of it. Be aware that you must utilize this credit by midnight on your final night. During my visit, I made sure to inquire about the specifics of this perk at the check-in desk, and the staff were helpful in clarifying the rules. The guest rooms, while tidy and well-maintained, do feel somewhat compact, making them ideal for a couple but perhaps a bit snug for larger groups. The hotel's lobby exudes a modern vibe, featuring contemporary decor and a lively atmosphere that's inviting for guests. However, it's worth noting that the hotel houses a vibrant nightclub, so if you're sensitive to noise, it's advisable to request a room on a lower floor to minimize disturbances from the late-night revelry. Overall, I found the Renaissance Hotel to be a solid choice for a weekend getaway. The location is excellent, with convenient access to subway lines, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel offers a good balance of comfort and accessibility.

Staff was amazing from time of check in until our check out day. Staff at the bar in the lobby are wonderful and full of patience and will recommend amazing drinks. You definitely need to book here if you want an amazing stay while visiting the city or just a weekend getaway from home. Will definitely be booking here again.

My only positives are that it looks nice and it's in a good location. The walls are paper thin, and there are doors connecting rooms internally, like at a motel. I was booked in a room next to a family with loud children. I called the front desk to see if they could ask the parents to stop their children from yelling, but it persisted. So, if you're booking a room here hoping to get some sleep, it's luck of the draw in terms of who you'll be paired with. Also worth noting, while the hotel website promoted having a rooftop pool/bar, it's not actually accessible to hotel guests. It's run by a private nightclub promotion.

As an Ambassador Elite member of Marriott and a frequent traveler, I expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, this hotel has been nothing but a nightmare. They have no respect for my time and think its ok to spend over an hour trying to check my staff in.
