The Chelsean New York Hotel

The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our entire stay. Anything we wanted or needed, they were happy to assist. The front desk woman was kind and made the check-in process very smooth and even upgraded our rooms for my birthday at no extra charge! The room itself is not very large but it was just enough space. The bed and pillows were comfortable. And the views were spectacular! Highly recommend a "high floor" and definitely the suites with balconies on the top floor. Panoramic views! The rooms were clean and bug free. Yes, I checked after reading some other reviews. This hotel is also in a prime location. In the heart of Chelsea, you're minutes walking distance to so many hot spots, Hudson Yards, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, just to name a few. And there are multiple train stations on the next block for anything that you deem too far to walk. Don't pay attention to any bad reviews you see I will be staying here from now on for my annual NYC trips!

Having read nearly all of the negative reviews, I went into my stay at this hotel quite wary. I had a pleasant experience. The room was tidy. It’s a bit small, but that’s to be expected in the city. Everything was clean. Checking in and out went smoothly. I’d stay here again. Good value for the location.

I spent two nights here and I appreciated the location. However, there was a lot going on. The first night we were relocated to another hotel due to a hot water issue. It looked more like an overbooking issue. We were two families work 4 adults and 5 kids and for that night we ended up with 5 one bedrooms. The Chelsean hotel had also an issue with one of two elevators, during rush hours we had to wait a long time to get to our rooms. The elevator was also shared for laundry and garbage transports which resulted in more delays and nasty smells. The rooms were nice and there were nice restaurants, delis and shopping possibilities in the area. Walking to Penn station or the MSG was around 15 minutes.

Good hotel - cheaper than some in the area - service was nice, nothing above and beyond but front desk was friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet, bathrooms could use an update. Pretty fair value based on location and price vs. what you get.

Dirty, old, noisy. Location is good but that's about it. If you are anywhere below the 12th floor you won't sleep until 2 am as there is a nightclub that they don't tell you about. Bathrooms are dirty and so old. Would not recommend to anyone to stay here. Bad.
