I don't write many bad reviews but PSA. I would never stay here again. Some staff was great some not so much. Internet was slow. Nobody warned me when I booked there was gonna be construction going on. I asked for a quiet room if possible. I got placed right across from the elevator... which was being worked on for 2 days... At like 6:00 am really?? I'm not kidding it was ridiculous.

Jun 13, 2025 · John TaylorVery nice hotel. Only minor points: room was very clean except for trash left in bathroom waste basket. TV remote was missing a battery (guessing a previous guest scavenged it) anyway, the front desk promptly replaced it. Also the elevators run very slowly. This was compounded by one of the two being out of service. Overall a satisfactory and comfortable stay. Very sweet, attentive service. Emily and Theo were especially helpful.
Jun 04, 2025 · Douglas ReidGood hotel for a short stay. Beautiful in the sense that it’s very regal. If you are wanting a boutique and historical feel, this aligns. Decent services but I was slightly disappointed with the room for a few reasons. The cable service was out on my tv for over a day. It’s very difficult to get in touch with the front desk/ room service via telephone throughout the mornings, the windows to my room did not lock, the elevators are extremely slow, and the walls are thin so if you have noisy neighbor's you definitely will hear them. Other than that, the hotel was clean and staff was friendly. It’s an older building so just be prepared for that aspect of the stay. I was not unhappy with the stay, I just wasn’t blown away.
May 26, 2025 · HannahWe just had a nice stay here! The Front Desk is extremely polite. The main areas are all beautiful. The room was small. Quite frankly, most hotel rooms look the same these days. The ac unit was pretty loud. We opened the window at one point, and turned it off. All of these historic hotels have a problem with how to maintain the old castle. Amenities add to it for me. A nice hotel breakfast was fairly priced with good service. There was plenty of free bottled water and free Internet.
Mar 24, 2025 · Sara Beth AllenI would not recommend this hotel for business travel. Although my company had booked and arranged payment for the room, the hotel insisted on having my name on the payment, which caused significant inconvenience. Unfortunately, the staff's demeanor was less than professional, and I was made to feel uncomfortable, as though I were attempting to use a stolen credit card. The only exception was Alexa, who was professional, courteous, and efficient. Even after I paid with my own card, I continued to experience this unwelcoming treatment. For example, when I checked out, I inquired about storing my luggage, and the response from the front desk staff was simply "yeah, probably," which was far from the level of service I would expect from a hotel of this caliber, particularly given the room's price. On a positive note, the room itself was aesthetically pleasing, though it had a very noisy air conditioning system and lacked sufficient natural light. Additionally, the Wi-Fi service was extremely poor, which further contributed to the hotel's unsuitability for business travel. While the location is excellent, I would suggest considering alternative accommodations for any business-related trips, as this hotel does not meet the necessary standards for professional stays.
