This should be one of the nicest hotels in the area. Unfortunately, it's run down and dirty. The carpets don't look like they've been vacuumed in the sitting area for weeks. The pool area floor had hair and food on it. The first room we were in didn't seem to be cleaned well, maybe even the sheets, before we came.. there was other peoples garbage in the pail. We were on the first floor with no sheer curtains so everyone could see in. The handicap shower flooded the bathroom. We asked to have it changed, but they kept us on the 1st floor anyway. You may chalk it up to renovations, but all I see is the fitness room being worked on. If you walk through the halls, the outside looks so run down. They told me the bottled waters would be in the room, they were not.... both times. And water comes with being a Gold member. I know that sounds petty, but it's still a perk that I look forward to. At breakfast, there was an entire lacrosse team here as well as other guests, and they had 1 waitress :/ At night, I asked for a glass of wine... they had 1 red, it was so bad I threw it away. I wanted to love this hotel because the lobby and pool are open, bright and pretty. But it's hard to look past everything else. The beds were made horribly, and the front desk was just rude and disinterested in being friendly or helpful. Hopefully, with the renovations train their staff to be professional and care about the details.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester Introduce

For individuals and families seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Rochester, New York vicinity, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester, located at 1111 Jefferson Rd, Rochester, NY 14623, USA, often comes up as a potential option. This hotel aims to provide a comfortable and welcoming experience, characteristic of the DoubleTree brand, though recent customer feedback suggests a mixed bag of experiences regarding its current condition and service delivery.

The environment of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester benefits from its strategic location off I-390, offering relatively easy access to various points of interest in the Rochester area. It is situated on Jefferson Road, a commercial corridor that provides proximity to shopping and dining options. Specifically, the hotel is within five minutes of the Marketplace Mall, which is a significant draw for shoppers. For those visiting academic institutions, both Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the University of Rochester are approximately four miles away, making it a convenient base for prospective students, visiting families, or university-related business. While the immediate surroundings are primarily commercial, the location provides a practical starting point for exploring wider Rochester attractions. The hotel boasts an "open, bright and pretty" lobby and pool area, suggesting an initial welcoming aesthetic, although external appearances and internal upkeep in other areas, as per recent reviews, may not always match this initial impression. The hotel's setting also offers ample free parking, which is a significant convenience for guests traveling by car.

Regarding services, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester offers a range of amenities designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers. Guests are traditionally welcomed with the brand's signature warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival, a small but memorable touch. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from Greater Rochester International Airport, as well as service within a five-mile radius of the hotel, which can be invaluable for local transport. On-site dining options include Bistro 252, serving American cuisine for breakfast, and The Atrium Lounge for lunch, dinner, and drinks. However, recent reviews suggest that staffing levels in the restaurant, particularly at breakfast, may be insufficient to handle guest volume, leading to service delays. The bar's wine selection also received negative feedback from one guest. Other services typically include a 24-hour front desk, though customer interactions, as described in reviews, can vary from welcoming to unhelpful and disinterested. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in guest rooms and throughout the hotel. Daily housekeeping is offered, and while the intention is to maintain cleanliness, some reviews highlight significant concerns regarding room cleanliness and general upkeep, such as unvacuumed carpets and residual trash in bins. Valet laundry service is available, along with dry cleaning services.

The features of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester aim to provide a comfortable stay. The hotel has 248 rooms and suites spread across 6 floors. Room amenities typically include premium bedding, a laptop-compatible safe, a desk, iron/ironing board, a refrigerator, and a coffee/tea maker. Each room is also equipped with a 32-inch LCD TV with premium channels. While the rooms are generally spacious, recent feedback indicates concerns about cleanliness, with specific mentions of uncleaned bathrooms, signs of previous guests, and poorly made beds. For recreation, the hotel features an indoor pool, which is generally well-received by guests for its warmth and appeal, although one review noted its condition by the end of the day. A 24-hour fitness center is also available, though at the time of one review, it was noted to be undergoing work. The hotel offers a ballroom and multiple meeting rooms, with over 12,000 square feet of event space, making it a suitable venue for conferences, weddings, and other gatherings. Accessibility features are also present, with accessible rooms available. A notable absence for some travelers is the lack of pet-friendly accommodations, as only service animals are permitted. While the hotel does not have EV charging stations on-site, information suggests they are available nearby (0.50 miles away), which is an important consideration for electric vehicle owners.

From a promotional perspective, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Rochester is marketed as a convenient and full-service hotel. Its location near major academic institutions and the Marketplace Mall is a key selling point, attracting visitors for various purposes. The DoubleTree brand's reputation for its warm cookie welcome and generally comfortable amenities is a strong promotional asset. As part of the Hilton family, the hotel participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, offering members benefits like discounted rates, points accrual, and digital check-in. However, as noted by one Diamond status member, the perceived value of loyalty benefits, such as complimentary bottled water, might sometimes fall short in practice. The hotel promotes its on-site dining options, indoor pool, and fitness center as highlights. Despite these features, recent customer reviews indicate that the hotel faces challenges in maintaining consistency in cleanliness, service quality, and overall property upkeep. These issues, if not addressed, could impact its long-term promotional appeal. While renovations are reportedly underway, it's crucial for the hotel to ensure these improvements translate into a consistently high-quality guest experience across all areas, from room maintenance to staff professionalism, to fully align with the DoubleTree brand standards and satisfy those seeking a reliable "Hotels Near Of Me" option.

When I arrived the gentleman and woman at the front desk were welcoming and pleasant. Later on in the evening I sat at the bar where the bartender was not too warm until after a while when a gentleman sitting there was talking to me then she was a bit nicer. I encountered 2 roaches in my room. When I was checking out this morning the lady at the front stated the computer was down therefore she would check me out when she could, never inquired how was my stay. I could tell housekeeping simply made the bed and change towels but nothing else was cleaned or touched, food in the restaurant was decent. There are a few places to eat in the area as well.

I want to express my dissatisfaction with my recent booking experience. I reserved a room with two beds, but upon checking in, I found that there was only one bed. I immediately reported this to the front desk, and they told me that my reservation was made through a third-party service, so they couldn’t guarantee the room arrangement. They implied that all rooms were already full, and I had no choice but to accept it. I requested to speak with the manager, but the front desk said the manager had already finished work and might not answer the phone. They showed no apology for providing a room that didn’t meet my requirements and repeatedly questioned if I didn’t understand them. They kept saying the hotel was full, and what could I do? After insisting on contacting the manager, they suggested adding an extra bed. However, the manager’s attitude wasn’t any better and said, I give you extra bed "You win!" When the additional bed arrived, it was placed at the door and appeared extremely dirty, which was unacceptable. Upon seeing the bed, we immediately packed up and left. This situation was completely inappropriate. After discussing with the front desk, I told them that this was unacceptable. There were four of us, and we couldn’t sleep in just one bed. I requested a refund for this issue. We had driven for an entire day and were extremely tired, hoping to get some rest. The time wasted in handling this situation and the delays in communication disrupted our entire evening and our other plans. This experience completely ruined our family trip and forced us to cut the trip short. We are extremely unhappy. Given the poor service and the inconvenience caused, I am deeply disappointed. I can't believe that a hotel under the Hilton group would have such terrible service. I absolutely do not recommend considering this place. It’s very poor service.

I was at the hotel for a Toastmasters convention. The hotel is currently being refurbished, which will bring the public areas into the 21st century. The service was impeccable, with Theo, our primary contact working double speed constantly to make our event successful. Thanks, Theo!!The good at the bar was delicious, and the service there was excellent too.

If you are thinking of staying here with your team DON'T. Unless you want to be told you have a curfew at nigt. The hotel was nice, the staff was nice but.. We went there for my son's last hockey tournament for the season. Saturday night my son went to hangout with his teammates. Shortly after 10pm he came back to the room upset. He said a security gaurd told him he had a curfew. When I asked the front desk i was told that kids had to be in their rooms or with their parents by 10pm. I was also told that adults have to be in their room at 12:30am. For the money I am paid to stay their I don't expect my family to be told to go to the room at a certain time. We were not disturbing anyone just enjoying the last evening with friends that we might not be with next season. I understand that some kids were running through the hotel, but they should be told to stop running not sent to their rooms. If Hilton agrees to host teams from out of state for tournaments they need to understand what that means. Even the staff felt uncomfortable about telling us to go to our rooms. They said their new general manager Charissa Yachcik is making them do this and didn't like it either.
