Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Henrietta

I can't say enough good things about this hotel! Our plane was delayed due to the weather and I called to let them know. I originally spoke to Heather and she was so kind and let me know all was well. We had another delay and I called to reiterate that we wouldn't be checking until after midnight and spoke with Ben. He informed me Heather already let him know and that we would be fine. After yet another delay I called back and spoke to Jordan and he made sure I received my key on my phone and said just go straight to your room no need to check in at the front desk since I did everything earlier with Ben and Heather. I couldn't believe how well each one of the staff communicated with other. You don't see that at hotels anymore. They were all so nice and warm even after I called multiple times and everyone knew the situation and I never had to reexplain anything else. It was so nice just coming in and going right to our room. Thank you to those 3 and to everyone else we encountered at the front desk. Everyone greeted us as we walked in and walked out. We visit Rochester for family and we will definitely stay here from now on. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Great job Hampton Inn & Suites!

Good typical Hampton Inn. Easy in and out to get to where you need to go. Close to RIT and food and shopping. Mattresses weren’t up to par, at least not to what I consider Hampton Inn quality. The room I had is hopefully on a list for new mattresses. I also spent 4 nights there without shower gel. If I hotel is going to use those bottles stuck to the shower walls, house keeping should be checking them to see if they are empty. Was told rooms were cleaned every other day, but mine was only done on day 3. Not really a big issue though. Breakfast was good, front desk was friendly and helpful.

My boyfriend Mr. King and I stayed one night , on a Monday ! We got there super late as we drove in from Plattsburgh! The parking lot was packed with vehicles ! Upon arriving to the room on the second floor .. the room was super clean! The smoke detectors was going off and when I buzzed room service they came asap! The bed was very comfy .. the heat was perfect !! The shower was amazing! The water hot enough to hurt ya but so comfortable! The floor very clean! We didn’t do breakfast but I was really impressed with the quality of cleanness ! Good job on keeping the place clean! I’d stay again!!

Stayed here for a work conference - would not recommend. The front desk staff is unprofessional and generally unhelpful. Spent one breakfast listening to them shout intensely at someone on the phone who apparently wanted a refund on their room. The hotel staff were supposed to provide a shuttle to/from RIT for the conference, but said last minute that it was too far (~3mi) and they couldn't take me. When I escalated, management told them they had to provide the shuttle, so they sent someone to pick me up, but they weren't happy about it and did not coordinate appropriately (I was waiting in the cold for 30min). The inside of the shuttle van is very dirty, with used plastic cups and garbage all over the floor. The room itself was comfortable, though a towel bar was broken and the phone didn't work. If the staff had been friendlier I would have given it a higher review.

Henrietta will soon be my 2nd home, as my son will be coming to college here, so I went back and forth with reviews trying to decide on a hotel for our recent visit as I had previously stayed here and wanted to try something different. However, I finally decided to stay here again because I didn’t recall any issues and the variety of hotel reviews were just stressing me out so I want to be thorough on this review and hope it helps ease the stress for you. I last stayed in August, and this stay was in late January. Upon arrival, the check-in process was easy, as I’m a Hilton Honors member and can check in on the app and head straight to my room. However, since I arrived early, I stopped at the front desk to make sure everything was good to go, and it was. Unfortunately, the hotel was handling a flooding issue from a burst pipe due to cold weather. Fortunately, my room wasn't affected. The room was clean as i recalled, though I noticed some dust around the fridge, AC/heat unit, and bed frames. The bed was comfortable and clean with crisp white bedding, no stains and the bathroom good. As for breakfast, I don’t understand the complaints—there was a good variety, including cereals, fruits, muffins, eggs, sausage, and waffles. The coffee was great, and I loved the chocolate muffin. Sofia was running the kitchen, and she was super friendly and on top of replenishing items and cleaning the area. Komal at the front desk was helpful from before i arrived in calling and speaking with her to request early check-in and again upon check out with billing. Housekeeping was responsive when we needed replenishments. The staff was consistently friendly and professional. Parking was plentiful, and the location is convenient, with RIT just 5-8 minutes away. Nearby dining options we like are Shake Shack across the street for on the go convenience, Tully's and Carmen’s Cooking, a Puerto Rican restaurant, which serves fresh, made-to-order Puerto Rican food, run by a friendly family. Highly recommend trying this place out, as it’s affordable, delicious, and offers both dine-in and takeout options. To address some complaints that I saw online: We stayed on the 4th floor, and we had no issues with noise from the HVAC system. As with any hotel, there were occasionally louder guests, but that’s not a problem for us as long as it doesn’t get out of hand. People are on vacation and having fun, and it didn’t disrupt our sleep. It’s just a hit or miss depending on the guests you’re sharing the hotel with, and that’s common everywhere. Regarding cleanliness, I did notice some crumbs on the floor at times. This is expected since people drop snacks, and housekeeping can’t be everywhere at once. I did see staff actively working to maintain the areas, so this wasn’t a huge issue for me. The hotel overall is a bit dated, but it’s still in good condition compared to some of the negative reviews I’ve read. One thing I’d suggest for improvement, especially if renovations are in the works, is to install safes in the rooms. That’s something I noticed wasn’t available and would have been a useful addition. Overall, I had a great stay, and I’ll continue to choose this hotel for future visits. The combination of a convenient location, friendly staff, and good amenities makes it a top choice for me.
