My experience staying at the hotel has been positive. I can’t say enough about the people that work the front desk. They go above and beyond to make your life easy. They are very friendly and care about their guests. I have seen this first hand. The hotel is clean and the accommodations are comfortable. The hotel is in a prime location. It is next to the highway, grocery store and a short drive to a number of different other stores.

Located at 181 Corliss St, Providence, RI 02904, USA, this hotel is designed to cater to guests needing more than just a typical overnight room, offering amenities suited for extended visits. For inquiries or reservations, you can contact them at (401) 519-9691 or +1 401-519-9691.
Extended Stay America - Providence is situated in a "prime location" with convenient access. It is notably "next to the highway," making it easily accessible for those traveling by car. This proximity to major roadways streamlines commutes and offers a straightforward connection to various parts of Providence and beyond. Beyond highway access, the hotel's location is also lauded for its practicality, being "next to a grocery store and a short drive to a number of different other stores." This access to essential amenities is a significant advantage for extended-stay guests, allowing them to easily purchase groceries and daily necessities, thereby facilitating a more home-like experience and potentially reducing dining-out expenses.
However, it's important to provide a balanced perspective on the hotel's environment based on guest feedback. While one guest describes the hotel as "clean and the accommodations are comfortable," another provides a starkly contrasting view, describing the "state of the hotel" as uncomfortable and feeling "very unsafe." This latter review mentions that the "place looks like it is a homeless shelter," with "horrid" smelling hallways, "dirty walls with chips and cracks," and "trash throughout the hallway." These contrasting accounts suggest that the perception of the hotel's cleanliness and overall upkeep can vary significantly from guest to guest, or perhaps indicate inconsistencies in maintenance. It is advisable for potential guests to consider these varied experiences when setting expectations.
Extended Stay America properties are designed to provide services that support longer stays, and this Providence location is no exception. A standout feature, as highlighted by a positive review, is the front desk staff, who are described as going "above and beyond to make your life easy." They are commended for being "very friendly and care about their guests," which is a crucial aspect of hospitality, especially for those staying for an extended period. This level of personalized and caring service at the front desk can significantly enhance a guest's experience, providing a comforting and helpful point of contact.
The core amenity of an Extended Stay America property is the in-room kitchenette. While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews for this specific location, it is a standard feature across the brand. These kitchenettes typically include a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and often a coffeemaker, along with basic cookware and dishware. This allows guests to prepare their own meals, offering flexibility and cost savings compared to traditional hotel dining. Free Wi-Fi is another standard offering, essential for both business and leisure travelers needing to stay connected. On-site laundry facilities are also common at Extended Stay America hotels, providing guests with the convenience of doing their own laundry during longer stays, which is a significant practical benefit.
While the provided reviews don't specify additional amenities such as fitness centers or pools, it's typical for Extended Stay America properties to focus on essential, practical services rather than extensive recreational facilities, aligning with their budget-friendly, long-term stay model. Free grab-and-go breakfast options are often provided by the brand, typically consisting of coffee, hot cereal, and muffins. Pet-friendly accommodations are also a common offering at Extended Stay America, which is a valuable service for travelers with pets.
The primary feature of Extended Stay America - Providence, in line with its brand, is its design for extended stays. This is reflected in the provision of kitchenettes in every room, differentiating it from conventional hotels. This feature allows guests to maintain a semblance of their regular routines, including meal preparation, which is particularly beneficial for business travelers on assignment, individuals relocating, or those undergoing medical treatments.
The hotel's value proposition centers on affordability for longer durations. This makes it a go-to option for guests who are "looking for cheap options" or need a temporary home away from home without breaking the bank. The location, with its immediate access to a grocery store, further enhances this value by enabling guests to save on food costs.
However, a significant "feature" or aspect that potential guests must be aware of, based on the negative review, is the potential for concerning room and common area conditions. The description of a "bed on a spring frame that looks like it’s from a horror film psych ward" and walls that "look like they’ve never been cleaned" points to a need for potential guests to manage expectations regarding room aesthetics and furniture condition. The issue of a refund not being processed after a quick check-out also highlights a potential concern regarding administrative follow-through, which is important for customer satisfaction and trust. It's crucial for future guests to document any issues thoroughly upon arrival and communicate clearly with the front desk.
Extended Stay America properties, including the Providence location, often promote themselves through their affordable weekly and monthly rates, which are significantly lower than nightly rates at traditional hotels. They cater to travelers seeking value and practicality for extended periods. Specific promotional offers might include discounts for longer bookings or special rates for corporate clients. It is always recommended to check the Extended Stay America website directly for the latest deals and to compare rates for different stay durations.
For individuals searching "Hotels Near Of Me" and prioritizing a low cost per night, especially for a longer stay, Extended Stay America - Providence is designed to meet that need. However, the conflicting guest experiences emphasize the importance of due diligence. Prospective guests might consider looking at more recent reviews beyond those provided here, or if possible, contacting the hotel directly to inquire about current conditions if cleanliness and upkeep are a major concern. The positive comments about the front desk staff suggest that on-site communication can be helpful for addressing any immediate issues or concerns upon arrival. Ultimately, this hotel is positioned as a functional and cost-effective solution for extended stays, particularly for those who value in-room kitchen facilities and convenient access to essential services.

Apr 24, 2025 · Tammy WoodsonI originally booked this hotel for a last minute unexpected trip for a family death. Upon check in I was uncomfortable from the state of the hotel and felt very unsafe. This place looks like it is a homeless shelter. The hallways smell horrid, the walls are dirty with chips and cracks. There’s trash throughout the hallway. Once in the room, the bed was on a spring frame that looks like it’s from a horror film psych ward. The walls look like they’ve never been cleaned. I immediately checked out and was told by the front desk person named Janet that I would be fully refunded. After countless emails, I have not heard from anyone from the hotel about my refund and I am still waiting weeks after.
Apr 27, 2025 · Jose BPlease do not stay here if you can help it. This hotel is a shelter for lack of a better word. And I’m all for it. I work in the field and I understand that everyone deserves a place to rest their head. However that is something people should be made aware of prior to booking especially if they are traveling with children. That being said the conditions of this hotel were deplorable. I was told my guest could check in at 12. Showed up at 12:45 to be told that she wait for a manager to be checked it which was not until 2:30. There was no front desk staff and she was greeted by the cleaning staff. My guest had to ask for a blanket because the bed only had a duvet cover. The fridge wasn’t cold, the freezer didn’t work. There was a hole in the bathroom the door. The chair had very obvious signs of wear and tear. The toilet was disgustingly and had hair on it and the inside was not clean. There were people walking around all night looking in cars then picking up random cigarettes off the ground. The carpet in the hall was filthy. And the smell horrible. This was supposed to be a little quiet relaxation time but it’s everything but. She did say the young man at the desk was pleasant but that was the only positive experience. Just because this place is used to house the unhomed does not mean that it should not be kept up just as any other hotel. Buyer be ware.
Jan 07, 2025 · Jennifer DavisAlthough the stay was affordable, it was not worth the money. As the hotel staff were friendly, the hotel was in absolute disarray! Roach/ant spray scented halls, trash littered throughout the halls and carpet was soiled. Suspicious characters loitering around people’s vehicles and the outside of the building. And the room! I don’t even believe housekeeping cleaned the room, they just made the bed! We couldn’t book another room so late in the night so we had to suffer through. The department of Health ought to be notified of the conditions of this hotel.
May 10, 2025 · KIPP'S HOT PLATEZThe room was very clean. Weed was smelled outside but it's legal so? Clean nice room for a reasonable price. Breakfast included sucks. Grab and go? A few bars and a couple hard boiled eggs. The amount of money paid deserves better Breakfast
