I ended up at Henn na unplanned, a last minute booking - but it was very well worth it and from now on it will be among my first considerations for a hotel near times square. I had initially booked another hotel, however there was a mixup with my dates and when I arrived my original hotel told me I had no reservation and I had to find another hotel. I quickly phoned up a few hotels nearby, but Henn na Hotel was the only one that picked up on the first ring (unlike the other hotels that had me listen to an automated message where I had to try and navigate a menu). The sir at the lobby who picked up the hotel was incredibly nice. When I told him of the misfortune I experienced he gave me a managers discount out of kindness and also made his best to give me a room that was quiet so I could sleep well after a long night. He also made sure to give us extended checkout. The hotel is very minimalist, has a nice entrance (no lobby though), the rooms smell great, and the bathroom is clean. The toilets have bidets!!! Just as one would expect from a Japanese Hotel. All in all I would recommend you to give this place a try. It is also a 2 minute walk from penn station (excellent for anyone arriving by train). At night the neighborhood is decently quiet and safe (I did not feel sketched out). The provided bathrobes as well as bathroom slippers. It would be nice if they could provide a few more cups (they only give 2 paper cups). They also have a waterboiler and a refrigerator (no snacks in it)

Mar 10, 2025 · Alara DincStayed here for 5 nights in mid-March. The location was excellent - in the middle of the Garment District and just a couple minutes' walk from Penn Station. Our executive King suite was spacious, clean, and with charming and thoughtful details: robe, slippers (housekeeping provided an additional pair for both occupants without being asked), a tea kettle, Japanese toilet with heated seat and bidet), hairdryer, mini fridge (unstocked) and a steaming closet, which was very useful for drying some incidental laundry we needed to get done in the room. The neighborhood felt safe and was not especially noisy, given how close we were from Times Square (the hotel was on 35th St between 7th and 8th Av) and the general tourist centers. Down the street and on/around the block were some convenient eateries: e.g. Liberty Bagels and a super-convenient deli called the Bread Factory, where we got, among other simple and inexpensive meals, a $4 oatmeal with fixings. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. We were able to check in early, without even requesting, because they had a room available and ready. Housekeeping was wonderful and obliging. Having not heard of Henn Na before, we found them serendipitously through booking.com, which threw in a free car ride from the airport to the hotel. Returning to the airport (LGA) at the end of the trip was also very easy: just a subway ride from Penn Station into Queens, then the free LGA shuttle to the airport. Took us about an hour and just $2.90. Was it soundproof? No, but then, this is Manhattan. Overall, this was a gem of a find in midtown - charming, intimate, yet comfortable and had everything we needed. Will definitely return on my next stay in NYC.
Mar 16, 2025 · Lorraine TeiglandI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York City. The location is absolutely fantastic—if you use the underground passage, it’s just one street to walk outside before you reach the connection to Penn Station. This convenience made getting around the city incredibly easy and stress-free. The hotel itself is very new and impeccably clean. Our double room was spacious, with large full-sized beds (around 1.3 meters wide) that were comfortable enough for two people to share. The room even had a hot water kettle, which is such a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was also impressive, featuring a high-end Japanese smart toilet that added a touch of luxury to the experience. After checking out, I reached out to the front desk with questions about our shared billing, and they provided a detailed and clear response very quickly. Their customer service was exceptional, and they were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I’m grateful for the excellent service. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and look forward to staying here again on my next trip to NYC!
Jan 10, 2025 · Hanxi ChenThis is a great hotel / concept - and the location is v tourist friendly. The downside of this is that if you get a room by the road you will have to sacrifice sleep - road rage does not take a break in NYC!! Luckily I managed to move to a (cleaner / more modern) room at the back even though it was “busy”. Good things about the rooms - the clothes steamer cupboard device is amazing, rooms are big for location / area, cleaned daily, and Japanese bathrooms are great. Downsides about the room - have to buy / stock your own water bottles as water machine rarely works / certainly not well enough to supply the whole hotel, no coffee machine etc (kettle and green tea), and if you came to London it would be the equivalent of taking a “holiday” bang in the middle of Oxford Street / Leicester Square - which I would not recommend.
Mar 13, 2025 · Nia DaviesThis was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Done in a Japanese style, it was clean, with extra niceties like slippers, robes, steam cleaning for dress clothes, and fancy toilets (with lots of functions including warm seat). Close to both Madison square garden, empire State building, and times square... The central location made the New York trip easy and enjoyable. Staff was always available and very helpful and polite.
