Our experience, family of 3, at this hotel was overall pretty good! Front desk was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making our stay even better. They even added a welcome sign with my name on the TV, which was a very nice personalized touch—I really liked it. The room service team was also very friendly and attentive. The little shop downstairs with snacks, drinks, and amenities was very convenient. The location, just five blocks from Times Square, was great, with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The room itself was spacious and offered good value for the price. Having laundry downstair was a plus too. However, the surrounding area felt a bit unsafe at times due to the presence of homeless individuals near the hotel. Also, when I tried to extend my stay for one more night, the price jumped from $250 to $430, which I was not impressed with. Overall, the service and accommodations were excellent, but the location and pricing inconsistency could be a concern for some guests.

Mar 10, 2025 · Luisa HoMy friend and I came up for the weekend and were blown away by the hotel! The location is fantastic. You are only about a 10 minute walk from the metro and there are tons of great restaurants around! The room was amazing! It was clean and cozy and expertly prepped for our stay. We had no issues with noise. There is even a laundry room in the basement you can pay to use! The staff was very helpful and kind. They had an extra suitcase holder brought up to the room so my friend and I could both have easy access to our luggage. The only recommendation I could make is to have a place to storage luggage that is secure and away from others. That way people can continue to explore the city while they wait for their room to be ready or after they check out but don't immediately need to go to the airport.
Dec 26, 2024 · Ashton DormanThe location of this restaurant is excellent. The rooms are clean, the staff is great! My favorite part is Wanthy in the restaurant/bar. Traveling is a hard life and he made each night bright and cheerful. Madison the manager and Nina the server also made us/me feel so welcome and appreciated. Highly recommend. And my gnocchi was great!
Jan 29, 2025 · Lynette DonahueBrenda was incredible during my one-night surprise stay. After my flight was canceled due to weather, I was drained from the long train and bus commute, not to mention the airport confusion. She greeted me with such kindness and empathy, which lasted not just through checkout but also when I returned for luggage storage and pickup 5 hours later, and even helped me with a lost retainer 8 hours after checkout. Brenda truly embodies excellent customer care. Because of her, I will definitely consider this hotel for future trips.
Feb 18, 2025 · Monique WoodsHotel with Prime Location but Serious Space Issues - 3/5 stars Look, I'll be straight with you about the DoubleTree Times Square South. This place is all about location and little else. The rooms are downright tiny - we're talking barely enough space to open your suitcase. If you're claustrophobic, this isn't your spot. Yes, the staff is genuinely great and they're trying their best. But friendly service can't make these rooms any bigger. The rooftop bar sounds fancy on paper, but it's another cramped space that feels more like a glorified balcony. The big question: Is it worth it? At under $150 a night, maybe for a quick overnight stay when you just need a bed in Midtown. But for anything longer? Hard pass. You can find better value elsewhere in Manhattan, even if you have to sacrifice the Times Square location. Bottom line: Only book if you: - Find a deal under $150 - Are staying just one night - Don't mind feeling like you're living in a shoebox - Really need to be in this location Otherwise, keep looking. There are better options in NYC for extended stays or if you value room comfort over location. Stayed December 2024, traveled on business
