Homewood Suites by Hilton New York/Midtown Manhattan Times Square-South, NY

I recently enjoyed a short stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in New York City. The hotel's Midtown location was fantastic, placing me within easy walking distance of Amtrak, Times Square, the Empire State Building, and other major attractions. Check-in was surprisingly quick despite the busy lobby, taking only about five minutes. While waiting for the elevators during peak hours can be a bit chaotic, the three elevators move efficiently, minimizing delays. My standard king suite was spacious for NYC standards, and the room had a pleasant aroma. The kitchenette was well-equipped with a full-sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and even cookware, making it ideal for families. The complimentary breakfast offered a decent selection of hot and cold items, though the quality wasn't exceptional. However, the always-available coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Overall, the hotel offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. While the immediate surroundings might feel a bit sketchy, the hotel itself provides a welcoming and secure environment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a well-located and reasonably priced accommodation in Midtown Manhattan. The hotel location is good and makes moving around Manhattan very easy. The staff on the front desk are terrible and their attitude and pompous behaviour is a real detriment to this establishment. A simple room service request (after our room was not serviced for the first 4 days) was met with hostility and then a hang up of the phone. When addressing this with the front desk manager in person in the lobby, the manager protected the employee as their friend and wouldn’t address the reported behaviour. Whilst speaking with the manager another member of front desk was observed being incredibly rude and belittling to a customer who was struggling to converse their query in English. Room size is good with space to leave luggage and move freely around the room and the windows open to allow fresh air in. The breakfast included is nice but staying a week in NYC it became repetitive with not a lot of variety. Seating is a real issue as every morning there was many more people than seats available. Overall, the stay for 8 nights was adequate but we wouldn’t stay again based on the way the staff make you feel at this property. For the price we paid, we have had nicer hotels in the past.

Ginormous rooms for NYC! Nice view from room, surprisingly quiet despite the hotel being busy. Nice breakfast, seating is a little tight sometimes but you can take it back to your room too. Staff were all very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Literally the best place!! So happy about everything: the location is perfect If you’re visiting new york because it has times square almost around the corner and it is very close to the subway. The guest service was top: btw on wednesday they give an aperitif to the guests and this really impressed me! Rooms are spacious for NY standards and very clean. Last, but not least the presence of a well furnished kitchen saved many dinners for us (saving money and time).

This hotel triangulates well on all the attractions we wanted to reach in midtown Manhattan, including Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards, the High Line, and Times Square. We just did a quick overnight train trip from Washington DC but had a lot of fun in the area! The rooms were surprisingly spacious and everyone at the hotel was wonderful. Compliments to the hotel bartender for a great Old Fashioned!
