Wasn't sure what to expect at this budget hotel. But upon arrival the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, I was able to store my luggage early. The hotel room was tiny but very clean and even though my bed was a twin it was surprisingly comfortable. I have to say the TV was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel but who comes to NYC to watch TV? My only peeve was there were no washcloths in the bathroom to wash my face with and the towels were thin and small. All in all if you're used to luxury this ain't the place for you but if you want somewhere to sleep and get a good night's rest this will work.
Looking for a budget-friendly hotel in a prime location near Broadway in New York City? Manhattan Broadway Hotel, situated at 273 W 38th St, is part of the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category and is frequently recommended for its affordability and proximity to the Theater District. Local users seeking a cost-effective place to sleep in a central area should consider this hotel.
Guests have consistently pointed out the hotel's two main strengths: its affordability and its excellent location. Being so close to Broadway is a major draw for theatergoers and those wanting to experience the heart of Manhattan. While the surrounding area is described as mixed, its immediate proximity to Broadway is seen as a significant advantage.
The front desk staff are generally described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Guests have appreciated their willingness to accommodate requests such as early luggage storage. The hotel rooms are often characterized as tiny, particularly the standard rooms with twin beds. However, they are also consistently mentioned as being very clean, and even the smaller beds are surprisingly comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest for many guests.
Some minor drawbacks noted by reviewers include the size of the television, described as the smallest ever seen in a hotel (though acknowledged as perhaps not a primary concern for those visiting NYC). Additionally, some guests have mentioned the absence of washcloths in the bathroom and the towels being thin and small. The rooms are also described as older in terms of decor, but the presence of tile and marble in some areas helps them feel nicer.
One reviewer suggested booking directly with the hotel and inquiring about room options, as it might be possible to secure a better spot by communicating with them in advance. Another mentioned that the doors are quite thin, which could potentially impact noise levels within the hotel.
Overall, the consensus from reviews is that Manhattan Broadway Hotel is not a place for those seeking luxury. However, for travelers prioritizing affordability and a fantastic location near Broadway, with clean rooms and friendly staff, this hotel is a viable option that provides a comfortable place to sleep and rest after a day of exploring the city. May 06, 2018 · Toni ThomasLet's just say, there's two reasons someone would stay at this hotel. Affordability and location! They are good for both. Very open and welcoming staff. The area is mixed but it is so close to Broadway who cares. Room was older, but clean and all the tile and marble helps it feel nicer. Book with the hotel itself and ask about rooms, you can probably get a better spot my talking to them in advance. No problems at all, but the doors are paper thin.
Jan 27, 2018 · Scott KerillCleanliness is the only thing this place has going for it. The staff is friendly. The pictures however, are deceiving. The rooms are half the size of a normal bed room, the beds are rock solid. It’s a very claustrophobic room. If I could get my money back and go somewhere nicer, I 100% would spend the extra money.
Mar 20, 2018 · blane krottCame for a concert over the weekend. Such great character - all of the tiling throughout the lobby and our room was just so interesting. We booked last minute (a week before our trip) and still paid less than any of the other hotels in the area. Great location - 10 minute walk from Penn Station and MSG, 10 minutes in the other direction gets you to 42nd street, and Times Square. Plenty of affordable food options all around, including $1 pizza slices downstairs. Check in was quick and efficient. Front desk was manned the entire time we were there. Lobby, elevator, hallway, and room was very small, but we were only there to sleep. (We ended up spending more time in the room than planned because of the heat, but really, we just laid on our beds and read in the AC. It all worked out.) The remodel they did looks pretty but is a little.... shoddy. The two personal reading lights above the beds were not secured into the wall. The light switches that controlled those same lights were also not fully secured (very unsteady against the tile). The sink was held up by a few pieces of wood. What looked to be a super fancy shower head worked only as a standard, but it was a hot shower, so we can't complain. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. Overall, if you're looking to spend most of your time in a hotel room, this isn't the place for you. However, it's not a bad place to stay if you're looking for a decently priced bed at night in the heart of Manhattan and want to use public transportation minimally.
Aug 16, 2016 · Kim L.The hotel location is great- within walking distance to most places. Very Tiny rooms but the prices are reasonable for a downtown hotel. Unfortunately our “nonsmoking” room smelled of cigarette smoke. Staff was very accommodating about getting us new pillows that didn’t smell like cigarettes. Staff is very helpful and accommodating overall.
