Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York by IHG

I’ve been to NYC 8 times, and this was hands down my worst hotel experience. Everything was fine until and Friday night when the nightclub—actually two clubs on the 14th and 15th floors of the same building as the hotel—started operating. The noise was unbearable, making it impossible to sleep. The front desk staff kept saying there was nothing they could do about it, which was frustrating. After 4 calls in the middle of the night and even going down to reception in person, they finally agreed to switch our room. But here’s the catch: we had to pack up all our stuff at 1 a.m. and move ourselves to the new room. We begged them to let us sleep and pack the next day, but they refused. To top it off, no one from the hotel offered to help us with the move—not a single staff member lifted a finger. This was a nightmare. I’ve never dealt with anything like this in NYC before. Definitely not recommending this place to anyone. Horrible experience.

I recently stayed (early February) at Hotel Indigo Lower East Side NYC with my sister during a particularly hectic New York Fashion Week, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional service we received—especially from Tiberius. From the moment we checked in, his warm and friendly disposition made us feel immediately welcomed. After a long day of travel and the chaos of fashion week, his positive energy was exactly what we needed. Throughout our 5-night stay, Tiberius consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He regularly checked in to see if we were experiencing any issues or needed assistance, which was such a thoughtful touch. Being unfamiliar with the area, I had quite a few questions, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, providing fantastic recommendations and helpful guidance every time. What truly stood out was his genuine care and attentiveness—it wasn’t just a job to him; he clearly takes pride in making guests feel valued and at home. Honestly, his outstanding customer service alone is the reason I will be a return guest at Hotel Indigo LES. Tiberius turned what could have been a stressful week into a smooth, enjoyable stay. He is an absolute gem, and the hotel is lucky to have him. Five stars all the way!

I just finished a 5 day, 4 night trip this afternoon and I can say that I would not be staying at this hotel again. First off, I want to start with the positives and say that the staff was incredibly nice and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and located in a great spot. However, in the hotel description, it was not clear that there was a night club upstairs. I was under the impression that this was a nice restaurant/bar for families. With that being said, the noise was far louder than the average NYC noise. Each night my kids were up 3-4 times complaining of the noise. Also, hotels usually have a small place in the lobby where you can buy drinks/snacks. This hotel had nothing. My husband went to get water and they told him that he could fill water bottles in the weight room area. When it comes to cleanliness, the hotel was good. BUT, I have a 1 year old who needed showers each night and there was noticeable mold in the shower. Bottom line, don't stay if you have kids. You will regret it.

Needs a bit of upgrading. The rooms are very noisy on the weekends. There is a club and you can hear the base shaking The rooms. I asked when it would stop and they said in what you can almost imagine an eye roll to go along with it that the club will be blasting music until 4am. Then he asked if I was packed so they can change my room. This is 1130pm and I was just about to shower. Why would I be packed? I also have a lot of luggage with me from a month of travelling nonstop. Some staff try to be helpful and change your rooms but you can hear the music in most rooms and then they end up downgrading you to a smaller room. There are vents on certain floors where the music travels down to and the vents are open to the floors below, so there is really no escape. When you question it, they make excuses and try to blame the fact that it is the lower east side and it's supposed to be noisy when that has nothing to do with them not soundproofing the hotel in the first place! This is an IHG hotel. There is supposed to be a certain standard maintained. They also blame the fact that it says that the hotel has a bar and a club in it and that it's already warned in the booking. They do not warn again nor do they take the time to think that your booking overlaps with a weekend so they should put you in a quieter room. Having a bar or club in the hotel room also should not be an excuse for the noise. I travel at least once or twice a month for work over weekdays and weekends and have stayed in numerous hotels with bars and clubs in the hotel and the noise does not travel to the rooms no matter how loud the club is! As I see other comments to this hotel, I understand other people's frustration with the same thing I am going through now. Service in this city is truly lacking.

It's an amazing experience. We were in a Premium Queen room on the 18th floor facing the east and the view was incredible. The entire wall is a window (you can open part of the window as well). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The doormen are great and will make sure there is no one in your way when entering the hotel. Make sure to be above the 15th floor. On Fridays and Saturdays you WILL hear the bass from the nightclub until 3am or so. It wasn't very annoying to us and wouldn't have kept me awake... although we were up past then anyways. Not a good hotel for kids though. Overall for someone in their 20s/30s, I don't think there's a better hotel in NYC for the price.
