Jun 16, 2025 · LamarIf you're looking for a decent place to sleep with access to the hospital or Canal street/the French Quarter, this hotel is a solid "fine" depending on room prices. This review is for a basic queen room, the fancier ones may be nicer. The place is clearly old and in moderate disrepair, and with that come a bunch of minor issues that add up: Peeling/stained wallpaper, loose fixtures, wiggly wall sockets. Very expensive paid wifi. Haphazardly painted-shut windows. One of my window panes has a decent-sized crack with a very sharp edge. An ancient AC unit that wheezes and clunks all night long. The shower takes 5+ minutes to warm up, then loses pressure and heat almost immediately. There's a bell tower right next to the hotel that announces the time in the middle of the night or very early morning (one am, four am, etc) All very minor things in isolation, but they add up to me not booking here for business travel again. For what it's worth, the staff is all very polite and helpful. Again, if you're just looking for somewhere to crash and know you can sleep through anything, you can probably do worse.
Jun 12, 2025 · Beck NWe had such a fantastic stay! The room was tidy and neat, and the customer service was absolutely amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting Jermaine, the valet guy, who was super helpful and shared some awesome tips for exploring the area. Even though we were far from home, we really felt right at home here. Thank you for such great service! We can't wait to come back!
May 25, 2025 · Terreneca JosephI have been a loyal Marriott client for many years, for both personal and business travel. I have never written a review for a Marriott property, but feel compelled to do so after my recent stay. The property is in a good location and has nice and understated curb appeal, but my concern began when I entered the building. The property is generally run down and poorly maintained. The walls of our room were stained with the wall paper peeling in many locations. Our room was also located mere feet from the belfry of the next door church whose chiming bells would ring loudly on the hour. On the second day of our stay the elevators began experiencing issues. I was stuck in an elevator car. We called the front desk who said they would call the engineer. After waiting for some time without assistance myself and another guests pried open the door and climbed out, I heard from another guest later in the day the same thing had happened to them. The following day all but one elevator ceased working entirely. The property has promise, and the experience could be markedly improved with some greater care and some much needed updates and maintenance.
Apr 12, 2025 · Conor BranchGreat Staff, Misleading Perks. Our stay started well—the location is excellent, with easy access to Canal Street, Bourbon Street, and the French Quarter. Ashlee and the team at check-in was fantastic, giving us great local recommendations and a welcome hurricane drink on arrival. The hotel itself is a little run down, but it’s kept very clean thanks to the hardworking housekeeping staff. Parking is not cheap but there are viable options nearby. The biggest disappointment was the so-called “tour credit” included in our booking—completely misleading. Watch out for that, perhaps it shouldn’t have been on our booking, but it’s not actual credit, just a list of a few third-party discounts you can’t access unless you have a specific email (which neither we or our travel agents received). The hotel couldn’t help, and our travel agent wasted days trying to sort it out, and it meant we had to book activities one day at a time instead of planning ahead. A frustrating experience that took the shine off an otherwise decent stay.
