Good hotel and great location. Room was small but very well appointed. The decor is really nice and the place has been recently renovated. There is a lot of noise from doors closing along the corridor and due to its central location, this is relentless throughout the night but also more apparent from 7 when breakfast begins. Communication from the front desk staff is awful - very little engagement or even a smile which really lets the place down. We didn’t even get a “how was your stay” when checking out. The shower looks great but lacks power. Bed is super comfortable and there is AC in each room but the unit can be noisy. The breakfast is a bonus and wrapped up in their additional tax that you pay on arrival, along with the security deposit which is communicated at point of booking but isn’t clearly explained when checking in and out. Overall - good location, nice room but the door noise and staff friendliness lets it down.

The hotel's well-appointed rooms feature modern decor, ensuring a comfortable and stylish stay. Each room is equipped with essential amenities such as a mini-fridge, safe, coffee maker, and blow dryer. While the rooms are compact, they are designed to provide a cozy and inviting atmosphere for all guests.

One of the standout features of The Hotel @ New York City is its exceptional breakfast service. Available daily, the breakfast option is included in the room rate but wrapped into the additional tax and security deposit charged at check-in. While the location and amenities are undeniably appealing, it's the hotel's commitment to guest comfort that truly sets it apart. The property offers a range of services designed to enhance your experience, including a 24-hour front desk and room service. However, some guests have noted that the staff communication could be more engaging, particularly during check-in and check-out.

Location-wise, the hotel's prime spot in Midtown Manhattan ensures that noise from nearby subway lines and street traffic is inevitable. Additionally, the corridor noise due to doors closing can be disruptive, especially at night. For those sensitive to noise, it's worth noting these potential drawbacks when planning your stay.

  • Prime Location: Walking distance to major attractions like the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and subway lines for easy access to anywhere in NYC.
  • Modern Rooms: Stylishly decorated with all essential amenities, including a mini-fridge, safe, coffee maker, and blow dryer.
  • Breakfast Service: Included in the room rate, offering a convenient start to your day.
  • Staff Friendliness: Generally welcoming, though some guests have noted limited engagement during interactions.

Guest reviews highlight both the strengths and areas for improvement. Many appreciate the proximity to public transportation and the hotel's updated decor, while others note the noise from nearby corridors and the lack of staff communication. Despite these minor drawbacks, the majority of guests would recommend The Hotel @ New York City for its central location and overall comfort.

For those seeking a blend of convenience, style, and modern amenities in the heart of Manhattan, The Hotel @ New York City remains a top choice. Whether you're exploring the city's cultural landmarks or conducting business, this hotel offers an ideal base for your NYC adventure.

Highly enjoyed my stay here. It is the perfect location to subways to get you where you need to go. Also great walking distance to empire state building. Grand Central if walked is 12 blocks away. My room was the family room. The room was very clean and wonderful modem decoration. The bathroom was a great size for two people to get ready in the morning. There was a mini fridge, safe, coffee maker and blow dryer in the room. The staff was wonderful and nice. I would definately stay here again my next trip to NY.

The hotel staff are very accommodating and the hotel itself is nice for a 2 star, though the rooms were not completely spotless. (Mysteriously, we found a strawberry on the ground nearby the mini fridge and there were hairs on the toilet seat cover.) We got a 2 queen bed room and the carpet itself felt clean as did all of our bedding and towels. We did not notice any bed bugs and from our height we could not hear any traffic from our room. I was actually surprised by how big the room was considering the size of the rooms in the other hotels I had looked into. The location itself is great! It's a 10 minute walk to Madison Square Garden and a 5 minute walk to Broadway. The subway isn't terribly close (5-10 minute walk), but it's still a convenient spot for sight seeing. The free continental breakfast they served was sub-par, but it was free, filling, and none of the three of us staying there felt ill after eating it. Not to mention it saved us the time and cost of getting another meal in New York. We were very comfortable during our stay here and would come back again if we plan another trip here!

This hotel is going through a renovation as of Oct 2018. The renovated rooms are nice, but a bit small. A few items have been overlooked in the renovations (like a place for your soap in the shower), but it's not a big deal. Staff are very friendly. The breakfast provided is minimal, but still good. The prices for rooms here are remarkable. Overall a good choice

Good location. Rooms well appointed, reasonably clean. Good mattress. Breakfast can only be described as beige. Only bread products and boiled eggs, plus a couple of pieces of fruit on offer, nothing really for anyone with a gluten allergy. Quite unfriendly check in staff on the evening.
