We just finished a four night stay at the Hotel Salem. We had planned on staying there only two days, but enjoyed the facility and accommodations so much that we changed our original plan to stay in Boston to stay the remainder of our time in Salem. The first very positive point that I would mention is the hotel staff. They are remarkably friendly and helpful and made our stay notable. Management is clearly focused on hiring and training with the goal of friendly service. The hotel and rooms are nicely designed well set up and very very clean. For the first two nights we had the micro king room, which is small but comfortable and very effectively laid out. For the second two nights they upgraded our room to the large king size room, which was very nice and very spacious. The bathrooms are well laid out. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel coffee/tea bar was a nice touch which we took advantage of each morning. The hotel is well located right on the Essex Street pedestrian Boulevard and a short walk to the train station. We found Salem a very comfortable and convenient base for visiting downtown Boston also with the train providing dependable and quick access (five minute walk, 25 minute train ride ) to downtown.

The hotel was located in the middle of town next to many restaurants, shops, and unique sites. Rooms are spacious with a spa like shower. Staff was not only friendly and welcoming, but assisted us with places to eat, park and visit. Great hot tea assortment. Even when we were checking out they asked if they can storage our luggage and refrigerate our food our we were finishing up our trip.

I recently stayed at The Hotel Salem and absolutely loved my experience! The room was stylish, colorful, and so comfortable; every little detail made it feel like a true boutique getaway. One of my favorite features was the water refill stations conveniently located in the hallways; it’s such a simple but thoughtful touch that made a big difference during my stay. The location couldn’t be better: right on Essex Street in the heart of downtown Salem, which meant I could easily walk to all of my favorite shops, cafes, and historic spots. I especially loved visiting Salem outside of the busy October season when the city feels a little more relaxed but still full of charm. The Hotel Salem perfectly captures that vibrant, creative spirit that makes this city so special. Can’t wait to come back!

Our team recently stayed at The Hotel Salem while in town for a conference, and it was the perfect home base for our trip. The rooms were colorful, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable, the kind of space that felt energizing after a full day of meetings and events. We especially appreciated the water refill stations in the hallways, a small but impactful amenity that showed the hotel’s attention to both guest experience and sustainability. The location was unbeatable, right in the heart of downtown Salem on Essex Street, making it easy to walk to great restaurants, coffee shops, and local attractions during our time off from the conference. We would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling for business or pleasure!
