The location is GREAT!!!! Walked to Times Square, MSG, Empire State Bldg. This hotel is VERY small, 2 very narrow elevators (4-5 ppl max) and 1 elevator was out of service so we waited almost 20 minutes to be able to go down to the lobby. There’s 27 floors 😬. The rooms are VERY small. Be prepared for very tight space. The online pics made it seem a little spacious but NOT AT ALL. Front desk staff are GREAT!! Very friendly and offered lots of great places to go see and eat at. Cleanliness is not great but it wasn’t horrible.

Mar 26, 2025 · T PetersonStayed here recently. Had a great time. Can't fault the hotel at all. Staff very friendly and only too happy to assist and also very kind. From desk staff to cleaners to Security, it was a great experience. Also in a great location within walking distance to Subway and many other attractions. Really enjoyed my stay with my family and would recommend it to others. Had read other reviews about the elevators not working and TVs etc - but both elevators worked fine while we were there, we used the stairs now and again too, and we didn't go to NYC to watch TV 😊 but either way the TV was working fine, It may not suit everyone, but that's life. We enjoyed our stay
Dec 23, 2024 · Derek CookeWe stayed here for 2 nights & overall it was a fine stay. I will note that the pillows are awful, so flat & unsupportive that my neck still hurts. It would be nice if they had different pillow options. There was also an odd ringing noise on & off all night… it sounded to me like a singing water glass- like where you run your finger around the rim of the glass to make a noise. The room was bigger than I expected for NYC. The bathroom sink & counter was much smaller than I would have liked. There were full sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion bottles available, but our body wash one was empty. They do offer the usual warm cookies, but they have walnuts. If someone has an allergy, they do have (not warm) allergen-free cookies at the desk as well.
Mar 24, 2025 · Teri PozniakWe stayed for 1 week for New Year's Eve. We saw that Doubletree hotels are like a knock-off of Hilton. They are just using their name. The problems started at the reception. They wanted to cancel the Booking.com reservation we made months ago and give us a new place with new prices. Total fox alertness. Of course they couldn't. The hotel is very old. The furniture is falling apart. The cleaning service is very superficial. The beds have not been looked under for months. There are 2 medieval elevators. It breaks down every 2-3 days. We spend time waiting in line. We mostly went down the fire escape. The breakfast is very weak and tasteless. I can only say that the coffee is good. And only the male and female staff working in the breakfast room were very friendly and polite. The location is also good, Midtown. But the price-benefit balance is bad. Even half the price is too much for this place. We also saw that NEW YORK CITY IS A PLACE WHICH THE PACKAGING IS GREAT BUT THE CONTENT IS TERRIBLE. I will never come again.
Jan 22, 2025 · Smart BuddyFor what it is, the hotel is fine and works if you need a more budget friendly option. The rooms are tiny (but it’s NYC so) and outdated, there are only two elevators which can be slow and you do have to wait a few minutes sometimes, the rooms weren’t the cleanest (chunks of stuff on the walls and surfaces and we had stained towels), the water bottles in the room AREN’T free which I knew thanks to another review so I took a photo of it and didn’t drink them and was still charged so this feels a bit shady to me. I did call to have this charge reversed so hopefully that goes through. Location was great though and the front desk staff was kind. I’d stay here again if I didn’t have other options but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
