Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th St/Empire State Bldg

We took 60 middle school musicians to New York! This hotel took such good care of us. There was some madness. But, the staff was on top of it. Not one unpleasant experience. It is their professional attitudes and attentiveness that made this such a pleasure to stay at this hotel. I really appreciate all of their kindness. The rooms were adequate and clean and maintained. The location was great. Thank you to the staff. I really hope the management appreciates what a great team they have. We felt very care for.

We stayed 3 nights right before Christmas and had a wonderful stay. The room was NY expected size (much smaller than typical hotel rooms), but it was clean and had a good size bathroom. We would stay here again. I want to give a huge thank you to the front desk for being so welcoming, saying hello every time we were in the lobby, and helping us with travel arrangements - hailing a cab using the Curb service, and giving us subway directions. The view was looking into another building, but that was fine as we were not booking it for the view. The only issue I had was getting the smells from the area restaurants, which is probably expected in NYC. Thank you for a great first time in NYC!

Let me preface by saying, I’m not a New Yorker. If you’re from the city, the size of the room will be standard for you. If you’re from almost anywhere else, it will be a “micro room” as in very small! But, that’s just what you get in Manhattan. The location is very close to the Empire State Bldg. it seemed safe enough. I would have had little concern walking around at night by myself (hubby probably wouldn’t have allowed it but I would have had I been alone 🤣) The room was clean, no carpet (yay!!), modern and the staff was nice. We were on floor 18 and the photo is of the Empire Bldg from our room. I would stay again.

We were on the second floor facing the road. I thought it would be noisy as the windows seemed quite thin but the road outside wasn't bad at all and me and my partner both slept well. The room we had was a big size. Huge bed and comfortable. Really good powerful shower. Nice toiletries along with iron, fridge and hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was brilliant, we were down between 6 and 7 30am each morning and there was plenty of space to sit and take your time. The hotel is really close to a subway stop and all the tourist hot spots for a first time visitor. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you like waffles and fresh fruit, breakfast is for you. 24h complimentary coffee and hot chocolate with microwave facility in lobby area. Nice staff.
