I stayed at this hotel in 2021, and when I did it was a time during covid but they had continental breakfast and unfortunately, it is now a restaurant in which you have to pay for. But aside from that, I love this hotel! I came back a second time and my stay was amazing, and was not bothered by any other guests. I loved to see that Eugene is still there! He is so friendly even years later, and I appreciate his hospitality. He is the best at what he does!
Looking for a hotel in Midtown Manhattan? Hotel Hendricks, located at 25 W 38th St, is part of the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category. Recent guest reviews offer distinctly different perspectives on the hotel, highlighting positive experiences with staff and repeat visits alongside a severely negative report concerning significant room flooding and staff response. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting accounts.
One guest who initially stayed at Hotel Hendricks in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic noted that the hotel offered continental breakfast at that time, which has since been replaced by a restaurant requiring payment. Despite this change, this guest expressed love for the hotel, returning for a second stay that they described as "amazing" and peaceful. They specifically praised a staff member named Eugene for his continued friendliness and exceptional hospitality, considering him the best at what he does.
Conversely, another guest reported an "awful experience from start to finish." On their second night, they awoke to find their entire hotel room flooded, with water covering the floor and soaking their clothes, luggage, and personal items. They were particularly critical of the hotel staff's reaction, describing them as "completely dismissive" and showing "zero urgency or concern" for their damaged belongings. The guest stated that the hotel offered no compensation or laundry services and acted as if such incidents were commonplace. They were subsequently moved to another room, which they also found to be flooded. This situation forced them to check out early with ruined clothes and damp luggage, resulting in an "overall terrible experience." This reviewer found the level of negligence and lack of basic hospitality to be unacceptable for a 4-star hotel and strongly recommended that others "save yourself the stress and book elsewhere," suggesting they might not have even received a refund without booking through a third-party platform.
The provided reviews mention breakfast service changes but do not include information about specific promotional offers at the time of these stays (2021 and an unspecified recent date). For direct bookings or inquiries about potential promotions, you can contact Hotel Hendricks at (212) 433-3800 or +1 212-433-3800. For the most up-to-date information on offers, it is recommended to check the hotel's official website or your preferred booking platform.
In conclusion, Hotel Hendricks has received positive feedback regarding friendly staff and pleasant stays from some guests. However, a significant negative experience involving severe room flooding and a perceived lack of appropriate staff response suggests potential serious issues with the hotel's maintenance and customer service. Local users should carefully weigh these vastly different accounts when considering a stay at Hotel Hendricks.

Mar 02, 2025 · Jocelyne FerreiraSadly, this was an awful experience from start to finish. On our second night, we woke up to find our entire hotel room flooded—not just a leak, but water covering the floor and soaking our clothes, luggage, and personal items. What made it even worse? The hotel staff were completely dismissive, showing zero urgency or concern for the fact that our belongings—including clothing, books, and electronics—were damaged. They offered no compensation, no laundry services, and acted as if this was just an everyday occurrence. We were moved to another room, only to find it was flooded too. At this point, we had no choice but to check out early, with ruined clothes, damp luggage, and an overall terrible experience. For a 4-star hotel, this level of negligence and lack of basic hospitality is unacceptable. Had I not booked through Hotels.com, I doubt we would have even received a refund, meaning we’d be double out of pocket—having to pay for ruined belongings, laundry fees, and another hotel stay. New York is an amazing city, but this hotel completely tarnished our trip. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere.
Feb 15, 2025 · Melody SmithDuring a quick business trip to Manhattan, I had the pleasure of staying at The Hendricks Hotel for one night. Although the rooms and public spaces are on the smaller side, which is fairly typical for New York City hotels, the overall ambiance and style more than make up for the lack of space. The Hendricks Hotel exudes an upscale flair with its dark lighting and sophisticated decor, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both modern and chic. The compact nature of the rooms is well-compensated by the smart layout and elegant design touches, making the most of the available space without compromising on style. A standout feature of The Hendricks Hotel is its beautiful rooftop bar, which offers stunning views of the city skyline. It’s a perfect spot to unwind after a day of meetings or to start your evening with a cocktail in hand, surrounded by the bustling energy of Manhattan. Overall, The Hendricks Hotel provides a uniquely stylish urban retreat. Despite the cramped conditions, the hotel’s charm and the exceptional rooftop experience make it a worthwhile choice for anyone looking for a touch of luxury and a great location in the heart of Manhattan.
Feb 04, 2025 · Devin GeisGreat hotel right in downtown Manhattan , 2 blocks away from Bryant Park , and a fee blocks from Macy's and Times Square. Staff are extremely courteous and very helpful. Everything is within walking distance. The location is top-notch. Also, check out their rooftop bar. Great views of the Empire State Building. 🗽
Feb 14, 2025 · Karl DriverWe absolutely loved this hotel! Super stylish in an excellent central location. Finishes were top notch. The front desk experience didn’t match the rest of the hotel - the employee was dressed very casually and this also matched his level of service. We scored a great deal and would stay again at a good rate.
