I scoured and read reviews before I selected this hotel. As a Gold Honors member, we were able to use our $18 F&D credit either at the bar or the "The Pleat" cafe. Honestly, wished they had more variety but we mostly used our credit for water and snacks for our stay which was great. We had the double room looking out to the street. Room and bathroom were very clean. Absolutely no sound could be heard at night vs other hotel reviews. Great shampoo selection. Typically, I use own but this was worth using. All in all, great stay. It was walking distance to upper and lower Manhattan. My only caveat which is more of a personal preference was more counter space in the bathroom but it doesn't warrant any negative points. I would stay again. HUGE plus, no resort fees. You pay for your nightly stay + tax.

Additionally, the quality of the shampoo provided has been a highlight for some travelers.

However, not all reviews are entirely positive. Some guests have noted that the rooms can feel extremely small, particularly in terms of available space for luggage and personal belongings. The bathroom's limited counter space has also been mentioned as a drawback by a few reviewers. Despite these issues, many guests appreciate the hotel's central location and the absence of resort fees, which they view as a significant advantage.

For those planning to stay at The Draper, it is important to be aware of these potential drawbacks. While the hotel offers a number of amenities and services that make it an attractive option, its limited space may not be ideal for all travelers. Guests should also note that the property's management has faced criticism in the past, particularly regarding issues like Hilton Honors point refunds and customer service quality.

Overall, The Draper presents itself as a unique accommodation choice in Midtown Manhattan, offering a mix of historic charm and modern convenience. While it may not be perfect for every traveler, those who prioritize location and personalized service will likely find it an appealing option during their visit to New York City.

Be aware, the rooms are absurdly tiny. Booked 3 nights with Hilton points. Total for the stay was 193,000, so quite expensive. My wife and were in town for a fairly formal event, so we did need some space in the room for our bags and to hang clothes. The bed was almost touching the two side walls, no closet, tiny bathroom with no counter space, and nowhere to store luggage. The front desk did show me an “upgraded” second room I could be moved to, but it had the exact same layout and dimensions. We left the property and I rebooked myself at the nearby Hilton New York Fashion District. A much better hotel. Paid the Hilton Honors rate averaging $190 per night. It took multiple phone calls and over 7 days for Hilton to refund that 193,000 points to my account. I am a lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member. One huge concern I have noticed over the past few years is the high level of franchised hotels that Hilton corporate is now utilizing to grow the business and add more hotels. And these franchisees seem to run counter to the Hilton brand of customer service, and quality. This hotel is a prime example of that. There are multiple hotel options in NYC. Stay elsewhere.

Overall I think this is a very nice hotel. Location was great. Pros: Staff was kind Rooms were fine. Typical small NYC style hotel room but it was fine. Quiet. Didn't hear much outside noise at all. Affordable Cons: No gym, but thats something I could plan for. Hot water took forever to heat up. When I called down, they said it often takes 10 minutes to get hot water. For ~20 minutes on the day of check in, there was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom. It cleared up after that, not sure what happened, but it was not pleasant.

I'm happy to give 5 stars. The main reason is because our larger king room was spotless. The beds were super comfy and good quality sheets and down pillows/duvet were used. We chose this hotel because they have fewer amenities and don't charge any resort fees, we don't use amenities when we stay in cities so it's pointless for us. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, the hotel itself is pretty much sound proof I barely heard the road traffic although we were on floor 21, it may be different for lower floors. The hotel staff were great, no charge for luggage hold for a few hours and unlimited ice cold water. Thanks again for a lovely stay, housekeeping deserve extra recognition, they do a great job and heard them cleaning the hallways thoroughly every day too.

I was very nervous about this New York trip because I had always heard issues about how dirty New York City is. I have very severe OCD and am super picky about cleanliness, so I was worried that the hotel would be dirty or smell bad. I spent a long time reading reviews and trying to find a super clean and affordable hotel in a great location. We arrived early, and they accommodated us with an early check-in. The room was super clean, and I was very satisfied. No hair or dirt at all. The shower was great! The room was very small, but they still gave us a king-size bed, which was super comfortable. There wasn't much storage, but overall, I value cleanliness, and I felt safe and very comfortable. It set the tone for my trip, and I will definitely come back!
