Sonder at One Platt

I can definitely recommend this hotel. First of all, the location is great and you get everywhere fast from Fulton St station. You can walk to One World Trade Center and Battery Park (10 min). There are several shops near the hotel, I can recommend Fulton 55 Market. The apartment was well equipped and modern. The furniture was a bit worn-out but we didn’t care as much since it was very clean in the apartment. The kitchen had everything you needed (coffee machine, microwave/ oven, hudge fridge, stove). You could get things like coffee and toilet paper from the second floor in case you ran out. The hotel has a roof top with a nice view, a gym and a common room. All in all, we had a great stay for a good price. Our experience with the service was great too. We could check in early and store our luggage after an early check out. One night, we had an issue with our neighbours (they had a noisy party going on) and complained via the app. They replied almost instantly and took care of the problem, so we could get a good nights sleep. Generally, they offer a 24/7 chat on the app and help you very fast. Also, people say it’s very loud because of the construction site. We didn’t experience any noise from that, since our room happened to be on the other side of the building.

The staff was very kind and helpful whenever we had to interact with them. The room was super comfortable and clean upon arrival, and the kitchen was fully equipped and very convenient. The location was excellent—very convenient and in a super safe area, close to the Fulton train station, which connects you to everything you need to visit. I would definitely stay at this Sonder again.

Fantastic place to stay! The room was clean and secure. I felt comfortable and warm in the room while the winter cold slapped New York city in the face. Me and my partner enjoyed the quiet and peace that comes from staying on the top floors. The studio was excellent.

Everything was great. Apartment is big for New York City standard. Ample space for 4 people. Kitchen is well equipped with coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Place is clean. Had a comfortable stay. Location is close to the main subway Fulton station and easy access to Times Square, Union Station, etc. nearby to 9/11 memorial, 7-11 just next door and so close to popular eateries such as Joe’s Pizza. Only setback is that there is no in unit laundry.

I wish I could rate this higher, but several issues need attention. The rooms are outdated and in serious need of renovation. We encountered a bathroom cabinet door that wouldn’t stay closed, though it was fixed within a few days, which we appreciated. The air conditioning was extremely noisy, making it impossible to use at night. With temperatures around 2°C outside and thin windows that let in drafts, this was quite uncomfortable. The windows also allowed air to pass through, causing a constant whistling sound. Adding to the inconvenience, there was construction happening at times until 3 AM, which seemed questionable in terms of regulations. If it had been limited to standard daytime hours (around 7–8 AM to 5–6 PM), it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue. While I would have rated this stay even lower, the service and ease of communication were positives. However, the additional $49 cleaning fee, even for an extended stay, felt excessive—at the very least, fresh linens should be provided at no extra cost. Overall, for the price, this stay was below average. Next time, I would prefer to stay at the hotel next door.
