Even Hotel Brooklyn by IHG

A couple of friends and I came into New York to see a play in Brooklyn, and stayed at EVEN Hotel. We were all impressed with the overall value of this stay for what we paid. Rooms are on the smaller side, but that's not surprising for NYC. Ours was still very clean with a great view of the city. We all loved the flavored water in the lobby, and all of the staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating! We felt well taken care of. We came in via plane or AmTrak, so walking to the subway and other places in Brooklyn were convenient. Overall, I would highly suggest this hotel! I loved my stay.

Kevin behind the front desk is an absolute legend of a host — knows the hotel, its rules and processes inside and out. He’s super efficient, too. I stood in line watching him handle all sorts of queries and problems and he solved every single one with a calm and happy demeanor. I know he’s not the hotel, but he sets the vibe. The rest of my experience was great because he sets the bar. Comfy bed, good pillows. The water pressure in the shower could be stronger, I heard some train noise (but it’s like a low rolling thunder in a rain storm). The location has subway stops to all the Burroughs. I’ll look to book here again.

I visited the Barclays Center and found this location to be perfect, as it was within walking distance of everything I needed. The staff was very pleasant, starting with Monique at check-in, who made me feel valued as a Platinum member. I apologize for forgetting some names, but there was also an African American lady with a short haircut and stylish glasses, as well as a gentleman of African descent with long locks who helped store my bags and arranged for transportation. I would book this property again without hesitation. Than you.

A family member visited this hotel over the weekend and unfortunately experienced a serious medical emergency and health scare. Our family member was alone inside the room and desperately needed help and assistance. She reached out to other family members who were five hours away. Family members were able to contact the hotel front desk and request assistance. A hotel manager "Trisha" responded to the room and immediately began to attend to our loved one. She called 911 and stayed with our family member until paramedics arrived. Trisha also secured the room and any valuables until other family members could complete a five hour drive into the state and pick up our loved one. We are truly grateful for Trisha's kindness and professionalism. She provided comfort and support to our loved one and went above and beyond. Trisha is an asset to this hotel and should be commended for her service.

This was my first visit to Brooklyn, New York, to see my youngest son, who moved to Flatbush in May last year. Naturally, I was excited to spend time with him and explore the city at your hotel. However, that evening, we noticed small roaches in the bathroom—four, to be exact—at different times throughout the night. Understandably, this made us uncomfortable, so we informed your front desk staff early the next day. I was given the option to change rooms or request a deep cleaning, which we chose. We spent the day and early evening outside the room. We ordered dinner for delivery and ate in the lounge area of the main lobby, as we didn't want to bring food into the room. When we returned to the room that night, we encountered multiple roach sightings, and I have attached a few pictures for reference. The experience was quite stressful, and we slept little, knowing we needed rest for our drive back to Maryland. The rooms are small, and seeing roaches scurry across a nightstand less than a foot from the bed was unacceptable. I was looking forward to sharing my positive experience at your hotel, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations of a 4.1-star rating on Google. Furthermore, the management team was unresponsive and failed to follow up on my experience.
